What is the ultimate breakfast?

We’ve had the ultimate sandwich, now it’s time for the ultimate breakfast. Is it a full English (/Scottish/Welsh)? Or something like a Poké bowl? Or perhaps you’re a weirdo who eats lentils for breakfast or something.
I am in the supermarket and I need to decide what to get for tomorrow morning, so UK: give me your finest breakfasts!
ComfortableAlone7876@reddit
Fruit n fibre, I love the texture of it and it's already sweet enough as it is. It even makes the milk sweet.
DocMillion@reddit
You sound surprised - it's 24% sugar... It's not health food
ComfortableAlone7876@reddit
I know it's full of sugar lol, but there's far worse out there. That's exactly why I don't add anything else to it.
Wild_Region_7853@reddit
My grandad will be turning over in his grave to hear that. He has fruit and fibre all the time when I was a kid and I’m sure it was because it was healthy
DocMillion@reddit
That's marketing!
No-Accident6125@reddit
Full English which I am just about to make
West_Yorkshire@reddit
Bacon and hashbrown butty with ketchup and a brew.
Simple, easy to make, satisfying.
AsbestosFuck@reddit
Other than a fryup, cold leftover pizza and a coffee is #1.
AnonymousTimewaster@reddit
Eggs Benny all the way.
springsomnia@reddit
Nothing beats Irish fry with farls, and a strong cup of tea of course.
RaccoonNo5539@reddit
Fried eggs on sourdough bread..
cobrarocket@reddit
Black coffee, croissant and a fag.
UrMomDotCom666@reddit
blueberry pancakes
morris_man@reddit
Yoghurt, granola, raspberries, blueberries, banana, honey preferably from Meads Farmhouse Kitchen
Oh! and a large Americano
Dangerous_Day1911@reddit
Came back to say this, over a smoked salmon everything bagel with loads of cream cheese????? Nahhh. Not a chance. Yoghurt???
Cemaes-@reddit
Salmon and cream cheese sounds horrific too mate!
Dangerous_Day1911@reddit
I thought so too, then I tried it and it was lush. You have to be in the mood for it tho. Still better than yoghurt
Cemaes-@reddit
I'd have to disagree. Anything would be better than fish for breakfast 🤮
Dangerous_Day1911@reddit
Absolute lunacy. Over a hash brown? Or pancakes and bacon with syrup? Or fancy French toast? Bloody yoghurt? Not having that like.
Nilithitarion@reddit
2 pork and apple sausages 2 eggs (scrambled or fried) 2 crispy bacon 2 hash browns Baked beans One thick slice of black pudding Fried mushrooms One tomato sliced and fried One piece of buttered toast One piece of fried bread Coffee Orange juice Salt and pepper Ketchup Cigarette Blowjob
rumham_milksteak@reddit
Sugar Puffs innit
TheZestyPumpkin@reddit
Rarely have it since I mostly can't be bothered to make it but on the odd occasion I do.
Some form of posh bread, sliced. Couple of slices of streaky bacon, halved small tomatoes (any will do but Tesco do some ridiculously nice Sugarbelle tomatoes) and sliced avocado. Drizzle with a small amount of balsamic vinegar and it's one of my favourite things to eat.
Cemaes-@reddit
My breakfast of choice when I used to live in Vietnam was xôi (sticky rice) or bánh mì and a cà phê sữa nóng (coffee with condensed milk)
Candy_Lawn@reddit
my favourite is juevos rancheros, which is tortillas (or toast) topped with chilli and 2 fried eggs. make a big batch of chilli the night before just for this very reason.
TartanGuppy@reddit
Full Scottish (bacon, eggs, sausage, black pudding, haggis, beans, and tattie scones)
Orange juice and a Pot of tea (at least 2 cups worth) and toast
jessietee@reddit
I don’t like haggis with mine and it has to be with a can of Irn Bru but I agree, Scottish fry up is easily the best.
Bwca_at_the_Gate@reddit
The Welsh know that the Scottish breakfast is the best breakfast. Absolutely outstanding.
Rare-Abalone-6839@reddit
Needs fruit pudding!
h00dman@reddit
Of course Scotland invented fried fruit as a breakfast 😅
I mean I'll try it!
Rare-Abalone-6839@reddit
It's bloody delicious!
TartanGuppy@reddit
You got me on that, please add as a late admission to the order
Also realised that I wouldn't have complained about a bit of Lorne/Square/Slice (that's another discussion as to it's name)
We're going to need a bigger plate!
Rare-Abalone-6839@reddit
Yes. Definitely Lorne sausage. Can't not have that. Brown sauce??
AlephMartian@reddit (OP)
Gets a vote from me!
CharringtonCross@reddit

Or y’know, Mexico, where rancheros is actually from…
BoulderBrexitRefugee@reddit
Much of the American southwest was part of Mexico…
dancingcab@reddit
This looks delicious. Just looked up the recipe. It's on the BBC. Thanks for the inspiration.
JoeDaStudd@reddit
Depending on my mood; my bastardised veggie breakfast (Glamorgan sausages, cheese Staffordshire oatcakes, bubble and squeak cake, beans and toast), everything bagel with Philadelphia and cucumber or American style pancakes with maple syrup.
ImpressNice299@reddit
Coco pops and gold top milk. Can’t be beaten.
Silver-Machine-3092@reddit
Hotel buffet breakfast is the ultimate breakfast. Where else can you have a five course breakfast?
Final_Flounder9849@reddit
Espresso, gauloise and a side helping of existentialist angst.
Cool_beans4921@reddit
For me it’s stack of thick pancakes with butter and syrup 🥞
AlephMartian@reddit (OP)
How about some streaky bacon on top…?
Silver-Machine-3092@reddit
And blueberries
interfail@reddit
Thought your lot fucked off after that kerfuffle with the tea.

For the soul - Bacon, egg, sausage patty and hash brown sandwich, on a soft fresh roll.
petrolstationpicnic@reddit
Downvote for adding protein powder
KeepOnTrippinOn@reddit
Sausage, egg, black pudding and mushroom butty with a bit of brown sauce please.

theegrimrobe@reddit
love me a full irish
see also cold cheese and tomato pizza or cold vegtable chow mein
Caveman1214@reddit
Ulster fry hands down, ironic you missed it from your list
SolitaryHero@reddit
Probably an unpopular idea, but I like dinner for breakfast. Used to work nights and would wake up to a prepared dinner. Sunday lunch for breakfast? Lasagne? Rogan Josh? I loved it!
NebCrushrr@reddit
Hungarian breakfast has the usual pork, eggs etc but also slices of raw green pepper, it goes so well!
NebCrushrr@reddit
Downvoted by anti-pepper action :(
bonjajr@reddit

itsYaBoiga@reddit
Cigarette and an energy drink.
Daisy_bumbleroot@reddit
Eggs benners
CherryLeafy101@reddit
A fry up of course.
cdca@reddit
Kedgeree or Eggs Benedict. I love a Full English for lunch or dinner but I have no idea how people can stomach something so greasy and heavy after they've just woken up.
Beneficial-Essay-857@reddit
That’s why you gotta hang out for as long as possible and go for caf for about 10am! As I’m normally up at 5 it’s not too early
tmr89@reddit
Maybe a fryup, like this
DaveBacon@reddit
That looks delicious!
Double-Explanation35@reddit
Perfect, except I would get rid of the tomato!
Current_Ad_8567@reddit

Poached egg on buttered granary toast, lots of freshly ground pepper. Fresh cup of filter coffee.

Very specific but my auntie makes a bread and butter pudding with croissants instead of bread and it’s amazing having the leftovers for breakfast
Affectionate-Rule-98@reddit
Marmite on toast and a cuppa
saz2377@reddit
I have a cheese and salami toastie for breakfast before work but occasionally have a second breakfast of chicken burger with siracha mayo!
bishibashi@reddit
Irish fry, with black AND white pudding
moon-bouquet@reddit
Ah, the Ulster Heartstopper!
Cobra-_-_@reddit
And farl bread!
ebonycurtains@reddit
We usually have a mix of full Scottish and full Irish when we can so we get black pudding, white pudding, haggis and tatie scones. Butteries are also great but idk if they’d survive the journey south to Yorkshire.
EnterJakari@reddit
Can't beat a good old-fashioned bacon and sausage sarnie, especially with a bit of tomato sauce
MintyMarlfox@reddit
Add eggs and black pudding as well.
discustedkiller@reddit
Be rude not to invite mushrooms and tomatoes to the party.
cornishpirate32@reddit
Tea & Toast
frikadela01@reddit
Full English
Or what's known here in Bradford as an Asian or desi breakfast. Chana and halwa puri. It's a chickpea curry and a sweet semolina based dish that you eat with a puri which is kind of like a thin fried round bread. It's amazing.
FletchLives99@reddit
Asian hotel breakfast buffet.
Specifically, I love curry for breakfast. So, roti cannai (Malaysia) is great. But Thailand, Sri Lanka and India also do great curry breakfasts.
Accurate_Prompt_8800@reddit
Omg, this!!
I gained about 10kg eating laksa curry, roti and noodles for breakfast in Malaysia…
FletchLives99@reddit
So, so good tho
Cobra-_-_@reddit
Maybe change username to FletchDies999 😉
kpopera@reddit
You can get frozen paratha (very similar to roti canai) in most supermarkets, but unfortunately the quality is pretty bad.
GotAnyNirnroot@reddit
I'd have to be a special kind of hungover to eat curry for breakfast.
imminentmailing463@reddit
I couldn't get my stomach around the breakfast buffets in china though.
nansonket@reddit
Bacon, Sausage, Scrambled egg, Hash brown, Black pudding, Toast
Competitive-Log4210@reddit
3 weetabix with a ton of sugar (obviously with milk as well)
peterhala@reddit
Tunisian hotel breakfast: fresh flat bread, mergez, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, figs, orange, melon & strong black coffee
Jasjazjas@reddit
Toasted bagel with crispy bacon, fried egg and maybe even a tattie scone, with a wee bit brown sauce. It’s what I want so badly.
However if we end up eating a little later and I fancy going more brunch vibes it’s a toasted bagel with primula, then BLT toppings.
Also can’t beat a full Scottish ( I go bacon, lorne sausage, beans, fried egg, haggis and/or black pudding, tattie scone and/or hash brown, mushrooms and some tinned plum tomatoes. Chuck a wee roll on the side so I can shovel stuff onto it)
babaG2022@reddit
Shakshuka! With good sourdough and runny yolks
Remarkable-Wash-7798@reddit
Eggs Benedict or eggs royale if I'm feeling fancy.
babaG2022@reddit
French toast with poached pears and mascapone 🤤
ashyjay@reddit
Flat white, fresh croissant, with a Lucky Strike. I've never had a breakfast better than that, so that's the ultimate for me, even though I quit the fags a while back.
TomL79@reddit
Bacon, Sausage, Fried Egg, Hash Browns, Black Pudding, White Pudding, Fried Onions, Fried Mushrooms, Ketchup in a Stottie
DocMillion@reddit
Smoked salmon, wilted spinach, and poached egg on good buttery bread

woodenforests@reddit
Croissant and a coffee
MrDibbsey@reddit
Pizza, leftovers from a takeaway the night before either cold or reheated one slice at a time in the Airfrier.
TheChookOfChickenton@reddit
Has to be a pizza from a Turkish or kebab joint as well. Paired with garlic dip. Proper stodge.
AnAbsoluteShambles1@reddit
There’s nothing like Chinese leftovers for breakfast🤌🏻🤌🏻
TheLoneSculler@reddit
Full English, specifically in winter with a fire in the fireplace, snow outside and maybe some classic comedy on to start the day
Scarred_fish@reddit
Porridge and wild berries as a starter, followed by Liver, sassermaet, onions, mushrooms and scrambled egg.
CartographerWhich743@reddit
Cocoa-Pops with extra cold blue top milk.
Or Frosties. Or Rice Crispies. Or cornflakea. All with cold blue top milk. (And extra sugar if the non-Frosties option)
Or, in a dream, Ricicles with gold top milk.
Several-berries@reddit
Greek yoghurt with walnuts and honey on it 👌
TehTac@reddit
I had a mince pie and a banana today, was pretty nice
Top brekkie would be a full english or pancakes
debsterUK@reddit
Bacon, hash browns, fried egg, beans, toast
Downtown-Storm4704@reddit
A big American breakfast in England. American pancakes, waffles, bacon and a litre of maple syrup. Heavenly.
Honest-Librarian7647@reddit
I've eaten far too many poached eggs on marmite toast in my life, yumm.
But the ultimate breakfast has to be a Turkish brekky done well. Eggs, cheese, toms, olives, cucumber, breads, cakes, jams, honey, cold meats, juice, tea (and once upon a time ciggies). Its enough to keep you going for the morning as you wade through the weekend papers..
Honourable shout out to the full English of course
Nonbinary_Cryptid@reddit
Crumpets with real butter are a treat breakfast for me. Most of the time, I only eat dinner though. Don't want to eat when I first wake up and don't like to eat at work.
Ginge04@reddit
Bacon Sausage Hash browns Fried eggs Black pudding Mushrooms Fried tomato (none of that tinned shite) Fried bread Baked beans Pot of tea
AnAbsoluteShambles1@reddit
Sausage , scrambled eggs , fried bread, beans.
Also quite love a bagel
alloitacash@reddit
Best I’ve had recently was Seoul Eggs from a place called Farm Girl in Kensington. Would be my choice over a full English these days.
Impossible-Ad4765@reddit
Hands down a full English breakfast. 3 fried eggs (minimum) 1 slice of fried bread, 2 slices of toast (minimum), tinned tomatoes (no skin), beans, bacon, sausage, hash browns, black pudding and a nice cup of tea.
ChristyMalry@reddit
I think a full UK breakfast should include both Bury and Stornoway black pudding, Lincolnshire sausage, square sausage, sassermaet, tattie scone and laver bread. Add soda bread, potato farl and white pudding for a full North Atlantic Islands.
CarpeCyprinidae@reddit
Bacon. Sausage. Fried egg. Grilled tomato. Chilli & paprika roast potatoes. Tea.
Accurate_Prompt_8800@reddit
My favourite homemade one is Shakshuka with chorizo, warm crusty bread with butter melted in. Delicious!
Or a McDonald’s mighty McMuffin (and variants) with a hash brown for a ‘I can’t be bothered’ breakfast that hits the spot.
AnotherYadaYada@reddit
I used to love a bacon and sausage sandwich or bagel or roll. But my tastebuds seemed to have changed and not keen anymore
AnotherYadaYada@reddit
I’m loving…
Granola, fresh summer fruits, Greek yog
Scrambled eggs and some toast
Banana on toast
Throw in a McDonalds Double Sausage meal here and there.
imminentmailing463@reddit
Really good fluffy American pancakes with blueberries in the batter, served with more blueberries and really good maple syrup.
Though a shout out to the porridge thickened with clotted cream I had in Edinburgh once. Incredibly good.
