Parts store quality u bolts?

I have to replace a u bolt messed up the thread on a u bolt for my rear axle on my 1980 Camaro. Also going to replace the studs and use a total of 4 u bolts.
Stock the car had around 175hp, I’m now pushing around 400hp, maybe 425lb ft of torque. (Based on the top end kit ratings with edelbrock anyway).
There any need for me to upgrade to a hardened steel bolt, or will the standard u bolts from advance suffice?

Pushing about 350hp in my 78 Firebird, stock has been fine.

I would order some quality custom ones and invest in some anti wrap bars

You'll be fine with normal u bolts. Put some sort of traction device on it (Caltracs for example) and it'll help keep it in one piece.

Traction device, like the old slapper bars? I do have those.

Parts store ubolts could be Grade 2 which you don’t want. Make sure they are Grade 5 and Grade 8 would be better.

You need to budget a 3 link suspension.
