New PC Performance issues
New build performance issues
Hey everyone let me start by simply listing my specifications
CPU: R7 5700x
Cooler: 240mm NZXT AIO
GPU: 7800XT(quicksilver)
PSU: 750W Corsair RMe
RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance PRO
MOBO: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite AX V2(FF Driver version installed)
Case: H5 Flow(2022)
SSD: Crucial 2TB MVME
Monitor: LG 32” 1440P
Now the issue is that my rig simply won’t perform as i’m expecting(not high expectations and based off reference rigs to friends).
I’m pushing a very unstable 50-100 FPS on GTA V(medium-high settings), 120-140 FPS on Fortnite medium settings, 120-160 FPS on Warframe(High settings).
This is pretty much the same as my old pc with a 2060 super and an i7-9700f. My AMD adrenaline driver is updated to the latest version, Motherboard driver is not the latest but not the oldest(came pre installed). Drivers were my first check. I also had connected one PCI cable that split into two for power but I swapped that two different cables as well. My GPUs Board Power draw is around 150W
If you need more information please let me know, really need help!

Run some benchmarks like cinebench, 3dmark timespy/steel nomad, unigine superposition and compare scores to equivalent hardware.

I’m getting scores around the same as other people with the same hardware. I did notice that my Board Power Draw was up there when testing around 200-220 whereas in game it hovers around 150

Very unlikely for your system to run fine in benchmarks but underperform in games. Your friends are probably running the games at different settings, don't really know what fps they're getting or test different areas ingame.
As for the difference in TBP between games and benchmarks, I reckon you're CPU limited most of the time in games.

What do you think is the best AM4 CPU i should upgrade to? Also i did figure it out, had to reinstall drivers once again and then turn on all the graphic settings and turn them back off. For some odd reason that uncapped my FPS and while i was getting 165 on LOW in Fortnite it shotup to 300 after doing so.

Radeon Chill limits fps to max refresh rate. Don't think reinstalling the driver or swapping cables had any effect, though it's impossible to say with how many things you did all at the same time.
The most reasonable upgrade would be the 5700X3D. Depending on where you live it might be cheaper on aliexpress. The 5800X3D is a bit faster but also not in production/available anymore. But do you actually need more CPU performance? You're not really benefiting much from going beyond max refresh of your monitor besides slightly lower latency.

All of my graphic settings were off but I turned them on and then back off which seemed to skyrocket my FPS. my main reason for upgrading my cpu would be to not bottleneck as i’m hearing. My CPU seems to reach its limit in games where my GPU isn’t utilized as much

Let me do that and get back to you. When i referenced to my friends Rigs they they have the same CPU, 6800XT and are getting much more out of it then I am. We’ll see tho
