Do you care about ray tracing/DLSS?
6700xt = 3070 in performance, but if you use nvidia optimized features like DLSS or ray tracing, then it’ll fall behind. Raw rasterization though, it matches the 3070.

In my experience, 6700xt doesn’t touch the 3070. More vram sure but 3070 performs so much better in game. It’s closer to the 3060ti and even then the 3060ti looks better with or without dlss. But the 6700xt is a good card no doubt and should handle vram heavy games better. I might’ve only had fsr2 available when I had the card, 2023, maybe fsr3 and drivers have gotten better.
Just my thoughts. Do you care about RT/DLSS is the right question though. Curious what 6700xt prices are like these days. $250 for a 3070 is pretty typical. If a 6700xt is $220 or less, I’d consider it.

A 12 game average benchmark shows 6700xt matching the 3070. Do you have any numbers showing the 6700xt clearly below?

Sadly I don't anymore, and my testing was only on Jedi Survivor, Cyberpunk, and MW2 perhaps. Limited game set, and demanding ones besides mw2. I'll agree that across many games, things can even out and I'll believe its on par with 3070 at raster, but I have to double down and say the 3070 still looks better quality wise. Throw on DLSS and you've got a very good picture and fps, while the 6700xt will be rough around the edges, but good fps.
Sorry I don't have evidence, but again that was my experience.

The RX 6700XT is a pretty solid card. Love mine!

what processor so you have

I have a 5600g at the moment.

RX 6700XT, I wouldn't want to use RT on either card tbh

Ray tracing doesn't even work well on the 3060. The 6700XT is better in every way unless you absolutely need CUDA cores.

I believe the 6700xt is closer to the 3060 ti. I’d say if it’s 6700xt vs 3060 (non ti) then I’d go 6700xt. If it’s between the 3060 ti, then it depends if ray tracing and upscaling is worth it to you, while only having 8gb of vram and overall less raw performance than the 6700xt.

If you're gonna game, go for the 6700XT, if you like ray tracing and/or want to do productivity work or require CUDA cores, go for the 3060
