747s out of JFK or the east coast?

So I've got Bday coming up and wifey asks if I want a party, etc. I'm thinking a trip to maybe ride a 747 one last time. But Im looking for the surest bet, knowing ac types can change.
Are there any sure routes , jfk, DCA, etc where I can snag a ride? Even thinking YUL, CLT, ATL?

Lufthansa flies them out of JFK to frankfurt. That's basically the only "guarunteed" route.
Also out of Miami.

This isn’t correct, Lufty replaced the 747 with the A340 for the winter schedule, so really it depends on when u/pretty1george’s birthday is. It does, however, fly in to and out of EWR and IAD. The only passenger 747’s out of JFK at the moment are Korean Air to Seoul, and Air China to Beijing. Korean Air also flies the 747 into ATL
OP, the definitive list of scheduled 747 routes on the eastern seaboard as of right now, which are all pretty much “guaranteed” is:
LH403 out of EWR to FRA (B748) CA982 out of JFK to PEK (Beijing, B748) KE82 out of JFK to ICN (Seoul, B748) LH419 out of IAD to FRA (B744) KE36 out of ATL to ICN (B748) LH463 out of MIA to FRA (B748)
The Lufthansa route out of JFK (LH401) will likely return with summer schedules at the end of March. Also a note, the IAD route will be changing from the 747-400 to the 747-8 in early February

Truly appreciate this rundown!

Thanks for this - I’m wanting to do the same

FYI Lufthansa plans to fly 747s for another decade, so there's no rush. Plan a real vacation around it.

I have flown the 748i from IAD-FRA. LH does fly them but the equipment varies depending on the time of year. For example, I flew IAD-MUC in October and it was on the A380 since it was still on the summer schedule but a few weeks later they switched it to the A350. I think JFK-FRA and MIA-FRA are year-round. Grab a seat on the upper deck, it's an experience.

This should be a helpful guide.

CLT does not get passenger 747s.

KAL uses a 747-8 on its ATL-ICN route.

A 747 out of DCA lol…
Lufthansa out of Dulles or Air China out of JFK

To quote Han Solo, that would be a real short trip.

Ship yourself from JFK to LHR via Atlas Air (Giant) and you’ll almost be guaranteed a ride! /s (very bad joke I know)
As far as actual rides, maybe KLM, Korean air, and Lufthansa are the current (to my knowledge) 747 operators. You’ll almost have to go overseas. Hardly any non-cargo 747s are flying domestically (unfortunately)

None of the US scheduled passenger service airlines have 747s in service, so you have to fly a foreign carrier to get a 747.

I’ve seen Lufthansa’s -8’s out of SFO several times.

Pretty much nothing domestic unless you’re a package 😕

Look at LH to FRA. Should be some 747s ex-IAD, EWR, and MIA. They appear in JFK and BOS every now and then also.
