This is one of the most important films of my life. I wasn't much into movies in the 80s, really - I was a music guy. Then I saw the Cape Fear remake, and it blew my mind. A little later, I saw this, and that solidified it. I became obsessed with cinema, and shifted my college courses toward a career in film criticism (it didn't take - the benefits blow).
I told a co-worker that Reservoir Dogs was my favorite Tarantino movie and I've seen it at least 50 times. He looked at me like I was a psycho.
I had to explain to him that there weren't any other Tarantino movies at the time other than Reservoir Dogs. I guess I then looked at me like I was Methuselah.
Reservoir Dogs is one of my favorite Tarantino movies and I'm a girl and lots of people think something is seriously wrong with me. If I'm looking for something to watch and I come across it I tell myself I'll just watch a few minutes because I've seen it so many times. And then the end credits are rolling. Some movies always stand the test of time.
I saw this film at a friends home when I had basically never seen a rated R film before. To say it was shocking would be a bit of an understatement - I had to leave the room during the ear scene.
I was just thinking about this earlier today. I was the only person in a full cinema who laughed out loud when Mr Blonde said "can you hear that?" while holding a freshly excised ear in his hand. I still think it's amusing.
I saw this in my local flea pit, the projectionist played the soundtrack before the trailers, which freaked me out when I realised it during the film. Fucking blew me away with how great a movie it is, I was evangelical about it to everyone I knew, I still watch it a couple of times a year, it just never gets old
I was once mid haircut and the barber had a straight but razor in his hand when “Stuck in the Middle with You” came on the radio. I laughed out loud and the barber didn’t know the reference.
Most GenX picture ever! 🤣 Looks like someone took a picture with a free Nokia flip phone that they got from Cingular for free with a 2 year contract of Reservoir Dogs playing on VHS on a Sanyo DS13 TV.

I worked at Miramax Films as an intern when this film was released. I had a screener on VHS before it was released in theaters. Wore the tape out.
