Went to a range on my 15th Birthday I live in Armenia and did this DW ik my gun safety
ItWASaSmallmouth@reddit
I would suggest a firearm course, or maybe a gun safe …that you don’t know the code to…
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I did do a 4-week course in Missouri when I was 8 years old I know my safety pretty well it's just I know how to shoot
ItWASaSmallmouth@reddit
Well I’m actually military… and you need to go to a better course, your too complacent
hueynot@reddit
No matter how long you’ve been doing something, there’s always time to start doing it the right way.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
It makes me more accurate when shooting cause there's a risk of losing toes so u actually think of each shot
RaccoonRanger474@reddit
Draw your knees up when shooting supine. It is safer (feet aren’t in front of the muzzle) and more stable. It also trains for recovery from that position, as well as creates a defensive stance.
With your knees up and feet planted it allows you to maneuver, and if someone is advancing on you it allows for defending against a grapple. Feet down like that anyone closing on top of you can dominate you in a grapple and subsequently control your firearm.
Also, shoot closer in that position (7 yards and in) most of the time when you’ll conceivably be in that position the threat will be on top of you. You’ll more likely be shooting slightly upwards, be careful not to overtop your berm.
TacTurtle@reddit
Safety glasses too.
Chrisscott25@reddit
A Christmas Story part 3 “I want a Makarov” “You’ll shoot your toes off kid”
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
Don't need them for me personally it's more dangerous having them on and it being a distraction than having them off and being able to not shoot my foot off.
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
Lmao no. Wear glasses buddy. Bad ammo can delete an eye easily. Don’t think you’re bulletproof.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
Well it's unnecessary for me this isn't the USA it's risker for me to wear cheaply made glasses and not be able to see clearly they don't have high quality glasses at the shooting range then not wear anything and be able to see clearly and not shoot my foot off
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
This might be the dumbest comment I’ve ever had back. Enjoy Darwinism as it is waiting on you patiently.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I understand in the US it's normal to wear eyewear it is here to go when you're on an outdoor range you don't really use eyewear unless you're indoors
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
Lmao what? Where are you from bud, that has got to be the dumbest shit I’ve heard.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I'm from Armenia I protection is not common here because it's just not common
PM_ME_FLOUR_TITTIES@reddit
Seatbelts were not common for quite a while. That didn't make seatbelts any worse of an idea. I don't understand how you are not understanding this. So what if it's not popular in your country, it's just glasses. Are you all really that vain over there? I say that as an American, where we all care more about our appearance than life itself it often seems.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I don't care about appearance The range didn't provide glasses and I forgot them and if I did bring them their airsoft glasses and they were blurry so it would be more riskier for me to wear them than not wear them
RaccoonRanger474@reddit
Do you have a P.O. Box I could mail you a pair of ballistic glasses to?
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I have ballistic glasses i just forgot i had them so i took some cheap sunglasses instead but i forgot i had them.
RaccoonRanger474@reddit
Good deal. Try to remember them next time and make sure to wear them. Burning powder and metallic fragments will absolutely destroy our eyes. Even a good firearm can blow up on us at the worst time. The cheaper the ammo we shoot, the more likely it is to happen.
When I go on man-hunts I wear a pair of WileyX ballistic frames. The first reason is that very often we are hunting dudes down in the woods in all sorts of lighting conditions. The glasses keeps my eyes protected from getting jabbed by tree branches and thorns while I am focused ahead looking for threats. The second reason is that when people shoot at you the risk of bullet and cover fragments hitting you is almost a guarantee. Third is that my gun might blow up. I train and compete with the same pair of glasses so that I am both safe and acclimated to them when the time comes to perform.
Agreeable_Dust4363@reddit
There was a guy shooting 200yds to my left at steel 100yds down range. The ricochet came back and hit me in the face. Wear your eye protection
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
Hell yeah man! I’m American but Arminian/turk dissent. It may not be common in your area but I promise wearing doesn’t make you a “pussy” or anything else it makes your smart and aware. Better be safe than sorry. Sending love and prayers from KY. As stated I’m not trying to be an ass brother just want to you be safe so you can continue shooting and training for as long as you want!
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
It's all right bro I don't even think it makes you look weaker if you wear eye protection it's just I forgot it and the range that I went to didn't have it since it was out of the city
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
To add. I’m genuinely not trying to be a dick but you’re young. I’ve been shooting a long time and have seen lots of accidents. Be smart and stay safe bud.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I will I just wanted to try out something new like that thanks
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
I’ll send you a pair of safety glasses if needed just give me a PO Box!
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I dont even think i have a PO box I have safety glasses i just forgot to bring them cause i was packing a crap ton of stuff
DesertKitsuneMarlFox@reddit
then don't reply on rental ones at the range and get your own better quality eye pro and wear them? or use your own cheap ones and replace them when they get scratched?
hell of a lot easier and cheaper to replace scratched glasses than an eye
Destroyer1559@reddit
Hard to see through clear glasses, huh?
(It's harder to see when you get frag in your eyeball)
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
Oh boy wait until u see the full video
RaccoonRanger474@reddit
Nice.
How much have you trained on your grip?
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
A lot actually The Makarov is terrible at handling recoil due to its non-ergonomic design and a lack of recoil mitigation system
RaccoonRanger474@reddit
Try closing your firing hand’s thumb down a bit and cant your support hand down by about 20°. If you feel like you have good grip pressure then rock on, but just from the video it looks like you could give a little more pressure. Think good firm handshake, but not so tight that it is causing trembling.
Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of dropping to the ground like you were doing?
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
Just for fun I saw a video of some army dudes doing it with a AK so i thought i'd give it a try
RaccoonRanger474@reddit
I gotcha.
I am a critical asshole so take or leave whatever I tell you, I appreciate you listening up till now though.
That being said, half of the shit we see military guys doing on video is just flashy Hollywood BS that has no application in putting lead into targets. Familiarizing ourselves with shooting from cover and awkward positions is fine, but we need to make sure that we have the fundamentals down pat first.
When a person gets to the point that they can fire a single shot and hit their intended target 10/10 times on command, they can likely do the same task after getting knocked down by a threat. I have professionally trained in and trained combative tactics with firearms for ten years. Working weapon presentation after taking a hit needs to be worked with someone actually knocking our ass to the ground, and then we need to work the firearm presentation ONLY WITH A NON-FIRING REPLICA (emphasis). Just falling to the ground isn’t benefiting us. Learning how to take a hit and get the weapon into the fight is all we need to do after our buddy just knocked the piss out of us. We can go on a live range and work the positional aspect with live fire later when we can control the safety aspects and not accidentally shoot our buddy.
The number one killer of soldiers in peace time is training incidents. Good soldiers get shot by their buddies all the time all over the world while sitting on a shooting range.
Kvolou66@reddit
“You see Ivan when firing put feet in line of fire, make you more accurate for fear of shooting toes”
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
😂 true
Huntrawrd@reddit
I'm not gonna fudd out on you. I was in the US Army and we had "big boy rules" range days that would make people here shit themselves.
That said, this firing position is completely fucking useless and if your military trains for that, they're idiots. There are reasons to fire from the ground, but that position... just no...
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
No they don't train for that in the Armenian army but I just saw some videos online of the stupid Taliban doing it and thought I might give it a try
PuG3_14@reddit
U know ur gun safety?lol, idk boss, this looks horrible. As someone suggested, bend ur knees and plant them. This looks like an easy way to loose a toe or even a foot lol
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I received my gun license at the age of 8 years old in Missouri I was trained for 4 weeks and I couldn't touch a gun or even go near one until I completed it I know gun safety better than most adults
TheWhiteCliffs@reddit
Gun license? The only license that exists is a concealed carry license, and you’re not getting that at 8 years old.
You clearly don’t know gun safety if you’re pointing a muzzle in front of your feet.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
A concealed carry license in a gun license to shoot at a shooting range is different A minor at our shooting ranger or at least the one I went to when I was eight they told my Dad that I had to go through a 4-week course not a concealed carry license just one so I could shoot at the range
PuG3_14@reddit
Get a refund from those accreditors then they clearly didnt teach you well enough lol
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
Ah I see the problem you’re from missouri
Party_Stack@reddit
First of all, plant your god damn feet. Your toes are boutta come off sticking in the air like that.
Second of all, this is a drill you practice for extreme close quarters combat. For situations where your adversary is right on top of you. If you really want to practice drills like this you should maybe take a few jiu jitsu classes (judo or wrestling works too, but I’d recommend jiu jitsu) so you at least understand the fundamentals of that sort of combat.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
It was for fun bro chill
Party_Stack@reddit
Nah. You’re being ignorant and dangerous.
Your body parts should never be in the line of fire. Running drills builds muscle memory. Doing them improperly is dangerous.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
It's all right man nobody got hurt in the end it was worth it in my opinion
castle_crossing@reddit
This is about the level of gun safety and overconfident self-assuredness that I too would have had at age 15.
Muckmenofficial@reddit
Guess you were a late bloomer. Most of us started shooting as just kids
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
What they can do it in the army but I can't
RaccoonRanger474@reddit
Humility is either beat or shot into us.
Impossible-Throat-59@reddit
Please please please take the advice in this thread and when shooting from supine brinf your knees back in order to keep your feet from being in front of muzzle
youy23@reddit
Throw some shovels at watermelons and you’re spetsnaz
mobilecorpsesuit@reddit
Dudes gonna shoot his foot shortly after a bad round blows his eye out without any eye-pro
DoPewPew@reddit
What military leaves their feet out to become bullet sponges? Stop watching so many YouTube videos and take some shooting courses before you become one of “those” videos.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
It was for fun
DoPewPew@reddit
It’s even more fun learning to apply a tourniquet after you put holes in your feet.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
Dude I know my shit I'm not gonna blow my toes off it's not like the bullets gonna deviate like in a game the bullet goes where the barrel is pointed
DoPewPew@reddit
Dude. You don’t know your shit as demonstrated by your video.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
Dude yes I do so what it was dangerous I know how to aim I'm not going to shoot myself if I do I have an IFAK ready but I'm not going to and I never will
DoPewPew@reddit
Spoken like a true 15 year old.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I just wanted to shoot it that way that's all dude chill out
BurningRiceEater@reddit
I was gonna say “bro cant handle recoil from a Mak”, but then i saw that youre 15. Good shit dude, keep at it
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
He has good recoil control sure. But he’s shooting like a dumbass lmao. Shoot and train like you should don’t risk your limbs buddy.
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
Finally a single positive comment thanks the Makarov is really hard to control because it's not really ergonomic and it doesn't really have a recoil in mitigation system
TrippinOnEA3167@reddit
Is this the “opps done shot my leg, gonna bust out that foutee on em” move?
Ihateautosandp90s@reddit
Looks like a good way to remove any unwanted toes
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
I can't miss also I had a IFAK next to me it's out of the clip
CMMVS09@reddit
And wanted toes.
5thPlaceAtBest@reddit
Just dont miss
TacticalSpeed13@reddit
The internet is a wonderful place...for idiots
BruceRorington@reddit
Military drill?… I get this sub gets hot and bothered any time an around goes off, but you cunts serious with this one?
yeehawpard@reddit
Wtf r u doing
brownjl_it@reddit
Yer gonna shoot your toes off!!!
ArceusTwoFour_Zero@reddit
At least draw up your knees, kinda like the generic giving birth position. It keeps your toes and feet away from the bad end of the muzzle.
demotivater@reddit
Big toes are useless anyway.
gyoung1986@reddit
Did you hit any of your targets?
iiSanAndressLaw@reddit (OP)
On this one no cause it's about 4 inches wide and 12 inches long but I did shoot one handed and hit it
