I had an Intellivision, loved Burgertime and Dungeons and Dragons
sockswithcats@reddit
It was Intellivision all the way...I loved this Intellivision game where you explored the human body in a tiny ship and killed off things like worms, tumors, and gallstones lol

The sounds live rent free in my head
sockswithcats@reddit
Thank you for that! Brought back so many memories!
savoryreflex@reddit
Sounds like Atari Fantastic Journey. My neighbor had an intellivisiion. I dreamed of one
La_Mano_Cornuta@reddit
Calloused thumbs from using the bottom discs. Loved our Intellivision and what was nice was a really good friend down the street had the Atari 2600, so we had all the bases covered. My top games back then were:
Astrosmash
Night Stalker
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
Sea Battle
Frog Bog
Winter-Ad-9051@reddit
I forgot all about Night Stalker. I can hear the music/sound effects now. That was a fave. I also liked Dungeons and Dragons. Hearing the dragon nearby used to freak me out
twirlingmypubes@reddit
Got Richie Richv over here
Kestrel_Iolani@reddit
Dungeons and Dragons, because no one else played in my school.
Anyone else remember Utopia? OG Sim Island.
Squiggly2017@reddit
Loved Utopia. Played it for hours on end.
Squiggly2017@reddit
Dungeons and Dragons was awesome. Even my Mom loved that one!
Winter-Ad-9051@reddit
Everyone in my neighborhood had Atari and I had Intellivision. Neighbors would come to my house to play Intellivision. I liked it better than Atari
bmd2k1@reddit
Ditto! ✌️
No-Coconut1428@reddit
Utopia was my jam!
Automatic_Fun_8958@reddit
I did. Sometimes i wouldn’t even put the remote plastic card in the control, i felt i could hit the buttons quicker without it. My thumb would kill me after playing for an hour.
Own-Contribution-478@reddit
The Intellivision controller is still my favorite controller of all time!
earthtobobby@reddit
Intellivision? Rec room? Damn, you rich!
FenderJeep@reddit
I had one and I still have one. Kind of a pain to try to hook it up to modern TVs, though.
I play the INTV a lot with my college-aged kids (primarily baseball). It’s one of the few video games where I can always beat them.
themodefanatic@reddit
Still have mine. Somewhere
tbaytdot1@reddit
We had one with about 40 games. Even my grandparents got one to play with us. I loved my grandfather very much and spent a bunch of time playing this with him. I learned poker and blackjack at a young age because of this. He loved watching us play Astrosmash and everytime we played the skiing game he said "don't hit the pipples" when we got to the end with all the spectators. I miss these times very much
GilligansWorld@reddit
Rich people stuff - coleco vision no?
Misanthropemoot@reddit
Bombs away!
NegotiationOk4424@reddit
My godparents had this console. We had the calico vision.
Street-Technology-93@reddit
Great boxing game.
Glass-Shelter-699@reddit
Still have it!!!!
Shen1076@reddit
B17 Bomberrrrr
Past-Reach-818@reddit
The intelevision baseball game was a big hit in my family… “YER OUT!!”
OtherThumbs@reddit
I remember the B-17 Bomber game. I'd play it with my brother. I still remember the guy saying the title.

That little quaver in the voice!!
Kasonb2308@reddit
There was the 2600 and then this. More expensive but better graphics.
DrySession9968@reddit
D&D, Safu, and Tank Battle were my go to's
NotDougMasters@reddit
We had one, and played it into the late 90s.
RScottyL@reddit
I personally didn't have one, but had some family members that did!
My first "console" was a Colecovision
charliefoxtrot9@reddit
Me. Beauty & the Beast, their DK clone, was my very first ragequit.
alabamaterp@reddit
Wow, what a memory. Beauty and the beast was a solid game.
Master-Collection488@reddit
We had the Fairchild Channel F. It was around the time that the Atari 2600 was big. It was a console that clopped. TBH the games were probably better on average than the ones I could get on cartridge for my TI99-4A a few year later.
The controls were basically an 8 (or maybe 2x4) direction, and the head of the controller could be rotated slightly (not quite a paddle, because there were limits and a spring). The head could be pressed down (usually to select/fire) and lifted (often to take the opposite action or do something else).
A department store near us had gone under (the whole chain) and during the big "everything must go" sale, my brother bought the Channel F console for the family. My folks bought our first color TV.
alabamaterp@reddit
We had a Fairchild Channel F as well! We got it around 1986 when a neighbor was cleaning out his garage. It was in mint condition still in the box with a few games. Yes, the controller moved as you described it. I remember it being fun to play.
Environmental-End691@reddit
I know not of this Channel F of which you speak, I will now spend at least 2 hours learning what it was, searching for one on ebay, and not buying it but drooling lustfully, so thanks for that....
Master-Collection488@reddit
I should've included a bit more information.
Pretty sure we had just two cartridges for the thing. Maybe three? There was a blackjack game, which was pretty good. Then there was a hockey game that was a bit like pong but with more "players."
It had 64K memory (dunno how much was consumed by its base coding). The games were fairly simple (as with the 2600) but the controllers slapped. Pretty limited color palate.
alabamaterp@reddit
I had the smaller Intellivision II with the add-on Intellivoice module.
UberBricky80@reddit
My older cousin had one. Once you figured out the controls, it was fine
digdugnate@reddit
Intellivision's lame. Atari 2600 was where it was at!
Balzovai@reddit
Amazing robot voice.. Mattell Electronics Presents... Space Spartans
Watch out for flaaak
Some of my best and earliest gaming memories. We had the I and the II!
SciotoSlim@reddit
That was oooonnn target.
Balzovai@reddit
Baaaawms awaaay. Hahaha
SciotoSlim@reddit
Did you play Tron: Maze-A-Tron? If so, is the music playing in your head right now?
fothergillfuckup@reddit
I was just trying to remember what the game with the tanks was called, and there it is! Rebounding bullets were brilliant.
Affectionate-Map2583@reddit
Was it Triple Play? It had a tank game as one of the three games.
fothergillfuckup@reddit
From what I remember it had tanks and biplanes. Its ringing a bell what the 3rd thing was, but won't come to the forefront of my wizened brain.
BrewCrewBall@reddit
Biplanes was the greatest! The third game in Triple Action was the car racing game, by far the lamest which is probably why you forgot it!
cyclingbubba@reddit
Once you figured out you can fly the biplanes upside down, it was a real gamechanger.
metalheaddad@reddit
Sea Battle and Night Stalker were consistently played!
cyclingbubba@reddit
Loved Sea Battle big time. Every now and then you could take out a battleship with a PT boat if you were good enough.
BrewCrewBall@reddit
Sea Battle and Space Armada (the Space Invaders knockoff)
TeoN72@reddit
I spent years playing Utopia what a memory
cyclingbubba@reddit
I'm gonna put a rebel in your country ! Good times.
BORG_US_BORG@reddit
We had one for a while, but only a couple games. The controllers sucked.
pitterlpatter@reddit
Had the Intellivision and the Vectrex 3000. We thought we were so cool. lol
PetieG26@reddit
I still have that cheering sound w/ whistles in my head... My bro and I used to have epic baseball games that went into extra innings all the time!
TwistedMemories@reddit
I had one and played it many a night. Burger Time was one of my favorites.
srboot@reddit
Oh hell yeah!
FormerCollegeDJ@reddit
I never had an Intellivision, but a friend who lived two houses away did, so I played it quite a bit. Favorite games included MLB Baseball, Astrosmash, Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack (the pack-in game), and Frog Bog.
UnderwhelmingAF@reddit
Spent many hours playing Night Stalker, Astrosmash, and Pitfall.
CondeBK@reddit
Burguertime ans soccer were the shit!!

Utopia. Burger Time. AD&D Treasure of Tarmin. Sigh.
tedsgloriousmustache@reddit
Colecovision with the atari adapter!!!
Neighbor had intellivision.
We lived a charmed life.
Avindair@reddit
Me, with the sound pack, and "B-17 Bomber."
Craig1974@reddit
Intellivision. We had one.
kon---@reddit
Aye, that showed up after the Atari console.
I think I speak for anyone when I say in time it did take standing on the buttons to get a button to work.
IvoShandor@reddit
We glued a bishop from the chess board onto the disk to make a joystick.
It had great sports games.
AngryK9_@reddit
Mom almost bought one at Kmart for my birthday. But I had my heart set on the Atari 2600. My older brother and I argued for about 20 minutes between having mom buy that one or the Atari. Mom finally made the decision that since it was my birthday present, and I wanted the Atari, then it was going to be the Atari. I never got to play with one of those, but my brother always told me it was better than the Atari.
FailureFulcrim@reddit
For what it's worth all these years later, you were right.
The Intellivision sports games were almost all 2 player only. There were a couple cool games like Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and Night Stalker, but most of them were stinkers and the controllers stunk.
Environmental-End691@reddit
It was, so sorry you missed out.
AngryK9_@reddit
No worries. I don't really feel like I missed out. I have a lot of fun memories with my Atari and made plenty more good memories with my Nintendo.
mhicheal@reddit
There was one guy in my class who owned one of these and it was the only reason he had friends at all.
Expensive-Function16@reddit
That would be me....
UnarmedSnail@reddit
I was not allowed. I had an Intellivision tho.
MyFiteSong@reddit
This is why I laugh when dudes claim playing video games got them ostracized. Silly. Anyone who had a console system had kids lined up to come play it.
It was never the video games...
SavaRox@reddit
Not a console game system, but I still remember the TV ad for Commodore. It had a catchy little song with the lyrics "My friends are knocking down my door to get into my Commodore 64". We had a Commodore 128. I loved playing the games on that!
We also had an Atari, and years later, of course, the NES.
UnarmedSnail@reddit
I had one. I spent hundreds of hours playing Tower of Doom on it.
Schmetts@reddit
I still have mine though it’s a pain to hook up to modern TVs.
NorseGlas@reddit
Intellivision II with the Atari adapter.
Only intellivision game I really played was burgertime, I was into the Atari games.
That is the only game system I ever remember my parents playing. Even after I got my Nintendo the intellivision stayed hooked up in the den so my parents could use it. Nintendo went straight in my room.
KevSmileTime@reddit
I had a Colecovision with the Atari adapter. Loved it!
AdamGenesis@reddit
That's my baby!
AdamGenesis@reddit
I went COLECOVISION. Your vision is our vision: ColecoVision.
mrkrag@reddit
Oh man. This, a portable black and white Zenith I rescued on trash day, and Donkey Kong.
"Go to your room! "
OK. 😀
Vol_Jbolaz@reddit
Rec room?
Dumpstar72@reddit
Loved my coleco. The version of lady bug was actually better than the arcade version as it had bonus stages. Didn’t realise till I played the arcade version and they weren’t there.
BeesBlooms@reddit
We had one and had the Intellivoice module as well. Loved Snafu, Burger Time, Dungeons and Dragons, NightStalker, Tron... but fave was Astrosmash!
phlebonaut@reddit
Nope. We had a Sears version of Atari
PassorFail1307@reddit
I remember they started releasing covers with the games to attach to the controllers, because they were so damn confusing. I remember it being easier to play baseball with them. My cool Tomboy friend had it. F**k, I can't remember her name. Either Ashley or Courtney I think, and now my day's ruined.
Rhusty_Dodes@reddit
I only ever got to play one a few times when at other people's houses. Same with the Colecovision. It was cool but honestly I hated the controller so I wasn't too sad about it. I was really happy with my Atari 2600.
