To any Duders out there feeling like they're bowling strikes and stuck in gutters, there's at least one stranger out there sure hoping you make the finals.
Robin Williams had a painful terminal illness that was destroying his brain. A sane society would have offered a person in that condition medically assisted suicide, not making them do it alone in the home.
Don't you find it a little funny that after he started in a film that the Church Of Scientology went WAY out of their way to interfere in, a man who had almost 30 years off of heroin, in the prime of his career, just decides, out of the fucking blue, to purchase various quality grades and sized bags of heroin, rent a hotel room and overdose? Take it from a recovering junkie, that's not how it goes down. Any heroin addict with any snap knows to be careful because of your lack of tolerance. 28 years clean. Depressed or not, I'm calling bullshit.
Yeah…not buying that. Risk of OD is highest right after sober addicts relapse because tolerance is reduced. We don’t know what his last days or months looked like, but if the Church of Scientology was going to kill someone to make a statement about the Master, it would have been Paul Thomas Anderson.
They died--they died as so many young men and women of their generation, before their time. In your wisdom Lord you took them. As you took so many bright flowering young people...
Addicts do know their products and abilities, but he had been sober and relapsed. It's not that uncommon for a relapsed addict to go back to the same amount they were accustomed to beforehand, and then die of overdose because their system couldn't handle it. I agree I don't necessarily think he was depressed, but sometimes the simplest explanation is the right one - he took too many drugs and OD'ed.
If you’ve been in “the game” and know the ins and outs and what have yous… it’s as clear as day.
It’s a guarantee that PSH had a regular dealer who didn’t fuck around and wasn’t giving him fake drugs. It’s way more of a possibility that Scientology sent out one of their dudes and they “got in the middle” so to speak.
Let’s also not forget, depressed or not… strong men also cry.

And Robin Williams had Lewy Body dementia. Just because he committed suicide doesn't mean he was depressed, he was suffering much worse than that.

My aunt died of that. I can understand his choice a little better, now.
Barricade14@reddit
Exactly. Being a drug addict doesn’t automatically mean you’re depressed. I recognize that the two are often linked but it’s not always the case.
downtune79@reddit
I'm about to hit 10 years of sobriety in May, after 24 years in active addiction. I wasn't depressed.

Philip Seymour Hoffman wasn’t depressed, he was a heroin addict.
He made a film about cults/scientology. They got pissed.
He was found after overdosing. Every single heroin addict I have ever known (especially rich ones) know their product and abilities.
Scientology killed him. Do some research. You’ll see.
Most heroin addicts are not depressed.
Musashi_Joe@reddit

He definitely wasn’t ever sober.
However, neither you or anybody else, including me, will ever know.
He didn’t accidently kill himself. He was murdered. I’m with that belief.
KatesFree58@reddit
Wow, I never thought of it that way. I was seriously brought down when he passed. Still miss the guy.
But that is definitely plausible.
