I grabbed 5 boxes of the Lehigh 95 Controlled Chaos, I never ever see that cartridge for less than like $30-$35 per box. You can get the 110gr stuff all day long, but the 95gr bullets scream, I got 2350+ fps out of my 10.5" SBR when I tested it.
I really distinctly remember that velocity, although I'll add the caveat that I shot 5 rounds of the stuff through a cheap-o optical chronograph because that was literally all I could afford to test it with, this was like my second gun ever
I've since switched to using a can and 190gr SubX rounds in that gun (it's still my go-to home defense gun ), but man, I also shot some into some reasonably calibrated gel, and fuuuuuck does it hit hard. Huge gaping wound channel, no neck, and most of the main slug penetrated like 19" and retained like 2/3 of the original weight.
If for some reason I needed full-power .300 BO rounds for something where I still needed to be mindful of penetration, the 95gr CC is the round I would pick every time.

Ever hunted with the sub x? I’ve got a shit ton loaded up

I don't hunt, so I have no idea. Not sure I'd hunt with subsonic .300 blackout unless it was one of those giant copper expanders and I basically treated it like a broadhead.
My marksmanship skills and home terrain are nowhere near as good as they would need to be to ethically hunt that way, hence no subs for me. If I were going to hunt, I'd stick with Tac-TX or even palmetto Sabre Blade rounds after I've seen what SSTs do at around 2100 fps

I actually use 125 SSTs lol. Dropped 2 deer this year.
47_Puppies@reddit
I want to ask you what barrel length, but with .300 blackout it almost doesn't matter. Fuck I love this caliber

95,110,125 grain bullet is kinda big.
roosteragain@reddit (OP)
Biggest bullet in the history of history

The German railway gun Schwerer Gustav was the largest calibre rifled weapon ever used in combat. Its 11ft 10in armor piercing round weighed over 109,000,000 grain.
Sorry to be that guy but I looked it up and thought it was a cool fact worth sharing.

CPR?
Sudden_Construction6@reddit
No, I don't think CPR will save you if you got hit by that
Quenz@reddit
Why, in hell, would you give someone CPR for a BULLET WOUND TO THE HEAD?
roosteragain@reddit (OP)
That’s amazing information to possess
redditshopping00@reddit
google is telling me a shade over 13,587 lbs
TatonkaChief@reddit
They're 308 bullets
EffectiveBanana9391@reddit
I think Lehigh cleared out their previous generation bullets, which is why these are on sale. 300 blk subsonics sold out on this page a while ago. Still not a bad deal if you know what you are looking for.
Sudden_Construction6@reddit
The 110's I put in my cart said they were specifically designed for use in 300 Hammr although they may work in other cartridges it may not give good performance
Just be sure to check to make sure you're getting what you want
sig_pistols@reddit
Would be all over it if they had the 198gr for expanding subs ..
Delta_Nemesis@reddit
Wonder how the 160gr lehigh .308 ammo is
nailer69420@reddit
Depending on expected engagment range, it should carry more energy past 200y to about 400y versus lighter bullets (125,135,150). But it typically loses out past 500y versus heavier bullets like a 175 or 180.
jdeere04@reddit
This doesn’t seem like a good deal. 300 blk is now $.75-.80 a round in soft tip.
nailer69420@reddit
For Lehigh bullets, this is definitely a deal. Gorilla ammo uses or used Lehigh bullets in the past (they don't say it anymore) but this link has a gel test and shows what this bullet does. Remember these are solid copper, hence the price.

If you’re goal is to shoot soft tips as cheaply as possible…no. If you reload and have used and bought these specialized projectiles before …50% off is a deal
roosteragain@reddit (OP)
Fuck sorry. .308 projectiles.
