Here in Montenegro that highly improbable, and I can list the reasons why. For example back in 2016 we had about 35.000 Turkish citizens living and working here. As of the recent census there are only around 7.000 Turkish nationals left here. Since I work in the tourism industry am able to speak with a lot of them. They come here, they invest a lot of money but the problem is they do not get most in returns. Because everything, literally everything around this country is owned by the Montenegrin or Serbian mafia.

The ex prime minister now holds most of ownership of major companies and his brother as well.

This is one incredibly difficult country to live in if you're from abroad. Ppl usually get fed up after a year or two and they just migrate.

Myself as well. I migrated to the United States back in 2008. I came back 2 years ago and the situation is at least 50x worse.

As for foreigners, we have them and you guess it: 99% are from Serbia.

Now, in the last couple of years the Serb president started buying everything he can through the Serb companies. Now their companies own about 67% of lands, majority of newly built flats around every city here with the dirty money from Russia.

So yea, we're slowly but steadily being kinda occupied by Serbia.

Even now our PM Spajic is greatly controlled from Vucic so yea. Some ppl I know that are into political parties that now lead the country speculate that Trump wants to unite Serbia and Montenegro, and give Serbs the bosnian entity of Republic of Srpska as a compensation for the American bombardment of Kosovo.

Balkans are totally nuts. That is why I would love my country to join the EU as soon as possible. That way we could avoid all of these unnecessary stuff but it is going to be hard as now we have Serbian language that is the most spoken here, plus the rise of Serbs to almost 40% on last census.

I come from the Australian generation where nationalism was a dirty word, and over 30% of Australians weren't born here. Why is the world focusing on what divides us instead of what we have in common? We all want a better world for our kids.

Focusing on fantasies instead of reality is like the person who doesn't work to improve their situation but waits to win the lottery for their situation to improve. It doesn't work.

Kosovo exists as a multi-ethnic country, and the EU/US is not going to allow the creation of new single ethnic states. So let's focus on how the Balkans can create countries where our young people don't feel they need to leave, or if they leave, they want to come back. Maybe even countries people will want to migrate to, but this will be hard work.

Lol French people kinda get the sound right away so it’s 68 million off. And I personally don’t care how people pronounce foreign sounds. It’s spelled gyros. So in Germany, they pronounce like it’s a German word and in English they say it different. I just noted that it’s still spelled gyros though, cultural exchange and shit. I couldn’t give a wet dog fart how they pronounce it.
