It looks like a flying beluga whale!
spaceman_spiff1969@reddit
That’s why they named it after one!
RomanGemII@reddit
Honestly didn't even know... and it's actually the first time I see this plane...pretty cool!
JackRedrow@reddit
Which time and Ferry?
Heli0s1313@reddit (OP)
I usually check Flightradar24 then try to get it when I see one comming between 16h and 17h30. I take the ferry that go to this Beluga's home
beeblebrox_0th@reddit
If you work at Airbus there's also an app on you can find on the Airbus Play Store that has all the flights from Finkenwerder listed. Beluga, ferry flights, test flights..
Heli0s1313@reddit (OP)
Oh crazy ! Do you have the name by any chance ?
beeblebrox_0th@reddit
It's called Flight Schedule. Make sure to use the Google App Store in the work profile on the work phone to find it.
Tricky-Anywhere5727@reddit
ok but your way home must be so chilling overall. i mean, i couldnt imagine something better than driving a boat in the moonlight to the dock
Prudent_Peanut_1857@reddit
What is the point of this plane? What porpoise does it serve?
njsullyalex@reddit
Silly pun aside,it’s used to carry oversized parts of Airbus aircraft like fuselage sections and wings between factories.
Stoney3K@reddit
Oversized (high volume) cargo.
Today it carries mostly things like A350 fuselage segments.
Starfleet_Captain@reddit
To quickly transport plane parts (fuselage, wings etc.) from one production site to another....for example Toulouse, France to Hamburg, Germany.
-burgers@reddit
What a cutie
Theres3ofMe@reddit
We see gwe regularly over the Mersey.....
CraigL8@reddit
I see it too when out and about. When sat on my couch it flys over head but it at 10,000 so too high at that point to see.

Goot old Finkwarder.
Civil-Attempt-3602@reddit
This flies over me in Chester (UK) going to the airbus factory in Deeside every day and i never get sick of seeing it
MesozOwen@reddit
Incredible that this thing flies at all.
Amsel-71@reddit
With enough thrust, anything can fly
MesozOwen@reddit
Yeah but it looks like it shouldn’t.
Carbonga@reddit
Why does it have a light shining diagonally back onto the wings from around the cockpit area?
Stoney3K@reddit
That's the wing inspection lights. They're used to look over the wings and check for icing.
Carbonga@reddit
Ah! Thanks!
WeatherGuys@reddit
To me the face looked like it was nostaligically looking down at the water thinking of his underwater relatives that he left behind to take to the skies in his new airborne career :)
Stoney3K@reddit
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
Tashre@reddit
That thing probably causes localized tidal forces.
Stoney3K@reddit
By the time it gets back it's mostly empty.
shana104@reddit
Wow, where is this??
Heli0s1313@reddit (OP)
Hamburg
ashieshk@reddit

You’re so lucky! I was in Hamburg for a few days and tried to achieve what you did here but unfortunately it never happened. I lises it by a couple of minutes so it was too far away to get a decent photo. Maybe next time!
Ela2234@reddit
I saw it lately in Munich
77_Gear@reddit
Nice!

EURopE iNt InNoVaTING aNYmOooOre!!!
masteroffdesaster@reddit
how is this innovating?
Easing0540@reddit
Unlike Boeing, Airbus has made the innovative decision to not roll out software that will crash the plane.
mittsh@reddit
And lying (by omission) about it.
Easing0540@reddit
And blaming the pilots like "Third world countries, amirite?"
Don't know if you know this video, it's a detailed reconstruction of the Ethopian Airlines crash. Horrifying.
masteroffdesaster@reddit
that's common sense, not innovation
hanami_doggo@reddit
What a stupid looking plane. I love it.
Tojinaru@reddit
It's a cute little huge metal bird, I love it too
zevonyumaxray@reddit
Go back home to see this 🎶 Baby Beluga 🎶
