The crew from my city, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (Sue saint ma-ree) left for California earlier this week.
Sault Ste. Marie is a waterbomber city, home of the former Ontario Provincial Air Service repair service hangar, now the Canadian Heritage Bushplane Museum.
The museum has the first waterbomber, a Fairchild KR-34 (Which worked an area north of here)
It's the location that roll-over tanks were developed... on the first production beaver (cf-obs), both of which are present in the museum.
The former OPAS service was responsible for turning Grumman Trackers, into Conair Firecats
in its collection, the beautiful French civic securitè #40 CL-215 (First gen, can't be upgraded) which stands gaurd over examples of in-float water bombing (also likely developed there, can't confirm, it was at least developed by an OPAS employee) and Bambi buckets, theirs interactive displays about forest firefighting and quite frankly is probably responsible for influencing Forrest firefighters in our area. Going here for school, and literally being taught about forest fires is a field trip. I did it in 1991... and LOVED IT!
GIVER HELL SAULT CREW!!!!

I figured they would have updated the Ontario logo by now.

Ya, not sure what's up with that. I'm pretty sure gogy got fresh paint in 2023.

The retro trillium looks way better then 3 men in a hot tub trillium. Never know why people feel like reinventing what works.

100%. The old one has legacy to it.

You don't see CN rail changing the noodle! Classic.
I found this and apparently it's from 1972. I think it's as iconic as the CN noodle.
Let's go back to the 6 super ministries.

About 1,900 miles and the CL-415 has a range 1,500. Needs one stop somewhere.

Of they follow the same strategy as the quivers that left the other day, they'll have 3 stops on the way.

That picture makes it look like it's on a frozen lake.

It is approximately 3000 feet from the shore of the st. Marys river, as it leads into lake superior. If it flew northwest for like 35 minutes it would fly over where the Fitz went down.

that museum is a hidden gem, really neat collection tucked away in there.

When I had to find an apartment... I found one within 500m because I love waterbombers and tugboats and they both right there... points at airplanes and tugboats that are within 500m. I love that place.
