Would a 43" Fire TV as monitor work well?

I have Gigabyte Aorus FV43U (which is marketed as a 43" TV-less TV) connected to my fanless desktop PC using a DisplayPort cable. Well, I shouldn't say "desktop" as it is mostly used as a multimedia PC now. The scaling factor is set to 200%, and the windowing system is still X11. I cannot use Wayland because old apps are then blurred by Xwayland. Regarding HDMI, I am not sure if this would result in a working setup. On older video cards, the limit is 4k @ 30 Hz, which is only OK for movies but not for desktop usage. DisplayPort solves the problem. Also, there exist USB-C to HDMI and DisplayPort to HDMI cables, which support HDMI 2.1 and thus allow high refresh rates. I have no experience with Amazon FireTV, so the below applies only if you change your mind and buy the same AORUS model. Regarding the monitor itself, it is supposed to be viewed from the typical TV distance (and that's how I use it) and is marketed for gamers. Reviews are focused on the experience with various game consoles, but it works as a PC monitor, too. For use with Linux, this monitor has to be reconfigured using its built-in menu for the sRGB mode. Note that it is a VA monitor, not IPS, and thus has a lot of contrast, up to the point that all 256 levels of gray are easily distinguishable. This sometimes creates an unpleasant effect where some objects in movies and games that are supposed to be on a cosmic black background and have some kind of halo around them actually end up having something like a protective film with a rather sharp edge where it ends. For the same reason, compression artifacts in dark scenes are also more obvious than on other monitors. This issue does not affect typical desktop usage or web browsing, even with a dark theme.
