Mike Fernie interviews Richard Hammond (aka The Hamster), as he reflects on 20+ years of Top Gear and The Grand Tour. For those of us who have spent 20+ years watching the famous trio, you will definitely feel some nostalgia for what was quite possibly the greatest car show ever.

Don’t fret because it’s over, smile because it happened

Peak Top Gear is definitely a moment to remember.

I discovered it when they posted the Reliant Robin video to YouTube
That next summer was a glorious one of piracy

I remember 20 years ago when i wanted to play half life 2 but my brother watched this british car program.
Little did i know that the media available of that day would be way better than the shit you get now, there are still good games and tv shows but it was diffirent then.
Remember cool wall.

Vietnam was right up there with Bolivia

Vietnam was honestly my favorite

South Africa specials are good too. I don’t think they ever made a stinker 🥲

The India one was... not good
Foodstamp001@reddit
Which, of course, is the only one available on Netflix

Link? I don’t even remember that one

I didn’t realize I mentally blocked that one out 😂

Well, the hill climb in that episode was kind of neat with all the locals. So there was that.
colin_staples@reddit
True, that bit was good.
But on the whole it's was probably the weakest of the specials.

I loved the arctic one, Jeremy pouring himself some gin while driving and informing the audience it is not drinking and driving since they are in international waters 😄
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
The Bolivia special was probably my favorite one. So good.

Hate that our old friends got old and are moving on. Great times were had over the years, these guys were just perfect together.

Clarkson’s Farm is a solid watch. I like that he’s become a bit of an advocate for farming now.

And farms for tax avoidance

Hammond and May have been doing a bunch of videos together recently. Mostly selling gin, but they seem like they plan to keep working together.

The early cheap car challenges were chefs kiss.

£100 cars £1500 coupe that wasn't a Porsche (Awesome) £1500 coupe that was a Porsche £10,000 Italian supercars
Oh and the early races, DB9 to Monaco (Vs train) McLaren Mercedes SLR Vs boats to Oslo Bugatti Veyron Vs a washing machine with wings (James's Plane)
The last Top Gear I really liked was the trackday special one, as I bought a Caterham around that time.
The early TG S1 and S2 stuff were peak 'Stag world' bits. Fastest Faith How fast do you have to go to beat a speed camera? And of course Jeremy's attempts at reusing a LS V8...
Peak TG for me 24h race, it looks like they enjoyed themselves.

The British Leyland one was my favorite. Jeremy's Rover that was too leaky to fill with water and had the door come off a few hundred feet from the starting line had me in stitches.

IDK what it is about Mike Fernie but I can't stand him in any of the videos. Happy to watch anything else on Drivetribe.
