ULPT Request: appetite suppressants, off brand uses

Wegovy is expensive. Adipex isn't covered. What med, over the counter or otherwise, operates as a major appetite suppressant or even nausea med.
TemporaryGrowth7@reddit
Not unethical but cigarettes and keto/fasting will do the job.
BloodMoneyMorality@reddit (OP)
I did keto fasting before. I’m having a hard time getting control of my binge eating though. Need to get that slammed shut first
TemporaryGrowth7@reddit
Keto will fill you up nicely… even if you enjoy the occasional binge.
Slow-Bluejay-4947@reddit
Depression works pretty well I’m down 15 pounds
Infinite-Condition41@reddit
I've had that kind before, but I learned to live with it and now it just want to eat. I fill the hole in my soul with tacos.
Slow-Bluejay-4947@reddit
Going through a divorce. I’m in therapy tho. So there is that.
Infinite-Condition41@reddit
Make sure you're with a therapist that challenges you, not just allows you to wallow in your self centeredness.
SmokyBlackRoan@reddit
Whatever happened to Metabolife/Metabolite? Something like that. I tried it for a few weeks and lost some weight but I was totally paranoid and anxious so stopped taking it.
amayita@reddit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topiramate
I had the psych prescribe it to me for OCD + depression.
zZzzXanaXzZzz@reddit
This barely works for weight loss, and the side effects are horrible. I've been on it for twelve years.
amayita@reddit
Yeah, the side effects are awful, but I did lose 20 kg LOL
jjjjjjj30@reddit
You can get the weight loss shots online for pretty cheap. My mom pays $200 for 3 months worth. But she doesn't use the full doses but she's still lost about 60 points in 8 months.
If you're interested, respond to my comment and I'll find out the site she uses and let you know.
AdPotential5559@reddit
I’ll bite! Where does she get them?
jjjjjjj30@reddit
I tried looking through my texts but couldn't find it so I'll ask her again and respond tomorrow. She did a lot of research to find the cheapest place to get them from.
You can also get them much cheaper from those salons that do lip injections and Botox and stuff. I think she was paying $150 a month when she was first getting them from one of those places. Then she found this website that was cheaper. But I'll let you know as soon as I find out!
AdPotential5559@reddit
Hey thanks! I really appreciate the advice!
jjjjjjj30@reddit
You're very welcome!

AdPotential5559@reddit
Oh man thanks for coming back to this comment, I’ll check it out now. Thank your mom for me as well!
jjjjjjj30@reddit
You're welcome!!! Like I said, she doesn't dose exactly how they tell her to so it will last longer, therefore be cheaper but she has still lost 60 pounds I think in about 8 months. She's never been huge but always struggled with that extra 50 pounds as long as I can remember. So it def works bc I've never seen her so thin and I'm 39. Good luck!!!

Lol
The_Real_Scrotus@reddit
Last time I had it I lost 9 lbs in 36 hours.
It was also the only time in my life I've ever thrown up so much that by the end I was puking up bile. It was revolting.
Biiiishweneedanswers@reddit
I second this. Had it recently. Was pooping on the throne while puking in a bin at the same time. A party trick I didn’t know I could do. Then I was repulsed by food for a while and could only handle sips of water and nibbles of the BRAT diet.
Lost so much weight.
Lvl81Memes@reddit
Can confirm. Gf worked in a preschool and we got it. Lost 5 pounds in like 3 days. To be clear: 3 days of absolute hell where I either couldn't keep any food down or shit what felt like lava every hour. But it got the weight off I will give credit where it is due

I’ve gained SO much weight on Adderall. I don’t know how you’re all losing!
smalltowngirltx@reddit
I have also, it’s ridiculous. Can’t believe how heavy I’ve gotten.
KAYBEE60@reddit
Read my comment above. Hopefully, your doctor will listen to you and prescribe some Topomax or switch you to Ritalin, which worked much better for me than Adderall.
KAYBEE60@reddit
Ugh! Lucky you being one in several thousand to have a paradoxical effect while on Adderall. I had a paradoxical effect too while taking Adderall--the tiniest amount to the average dosage, made me sleep, sleep, sleep. Ask your doctor if they would consider prescribing 100 mg of Topomax to take at night. It is primarily used for seizures and doesn't have any addictive, stimulating effects. For that reason, they are much more open to prescribing it. It really is helpful.
StarbuckIsland@reddit
Don't worry about it. Everyone who goes off Adderall gains weight back. Same with any stimulant really.
If you're abusing recreational stimulants you also feel so bad after that you just need to eat your feelings
nopenope12345678910@reddit
Are you by chance binge eating at night as the medication wears off?
Mediocre_Lobster6398@reddit
Well. Yeah. It’s actually the only time I eat.
nopenope12345678910@reddit
Well there is your answer. Stop doing that.
solarmist@reddit
Amphetamines were legit prescription diet drug drugs through the 60s.
But they aren’t a miracle pill. A lot of people turned into food for emotional comfort or other non-physical reasons.

There’s also research that having a tapeworm keeps your immune system busy enough that it ignores regular allergies. Won’t stop anaphylactic shock from a severe allergy, but will keep your white cells from overreacting to pollen!
tea_secretary@reddit
Wait what! I've never--achoo! excuseme--heard of that! I could lose weight AND my face might stop its nonsense?!
soopirV@reddit
The important part is to make sure it’s a deactivated segment- if you ingest an actual tapeworm segment you end up with a roommate who impacts your nutrition. Specially irradiated segments will not reproduce but still have the antigenic signature of a proper parasite so our immune systems leave everything else along and go focus on this bit as it passes through. And the. Tomorrow, you take another!
Purple_Chipmunk_@reddit
Where would one get deactivated tapeworm segments???
hectorxander@reddit
My dog got them once from a mole she killed. I think it was tapeworms. Got meds from the vet that cleared it right up but there were wrigglies in her poop, find those, scoop up a few days of worms and kill and clean them and kill any eggs in them I would think. You could probably sell them on the dark web even.

There was an episode of Star Trek where a crewman was captured by a gigantic sentient tapeworm. They had to figure out how to talk to it in order to convince it to let the crewman go. It did, and the crew helped it find its way home. This is a real thing that I did not make up.

The real Sudafed that you get from behind the pharmacy counter.
JeanetteMroz@reddit
Ephedrine also works, and is half of what they used to put in Fen-phen before it was banned. Look for Primatene tablets, also stored behind the pharmacy counter. (ID and a promise to not manufacture meth required.)
KnotUndone@reddit
The 12 hr extended release is best.
Demitel@reddit
Couple it with coffee and an aspirin for maximum effect. Do not do this if you have a heart condition.
nutwiss@reddit

mycatsnameislarry@reddit
Take 1 every few hours for a long lasting effect. I've found 1 every 3-4 hours is the sweet spot. Otherwise, methamphetamine is the best option.
butnotTHATintoit@reddit
I think Meth was already on the list LOL
RainAlternative3278@reddit
I heard they baned them
Working-on-it12@reddit
Nope, just make you go through hoops to get them. Fun Fact... If you get your doctor to write a script for them, you can bypass the state limits and get a 90 day supply.
Yes, they are OTC. Yes your insurance will deny because they are OTC. But the script overrides the state limits.
Source: I live in Seasonal Allergy Hell. The fake Sudafed just doesn't work for me. I get the script and come home with 180 12 hour caps every time I refill them.
Militant_Monk@reddit
Real Sudafed getting locked up is what pushed me to see an allergist. Getting shots that last 2 weeks is way better than by the 12 hr allergy pilll clock.
RainAlternative3278@reddit
Hmmm how much does one of those cost
Militant_Monk@reddit
7k (covered by insurance) to do the initial round of testing to find my allergies and brew up the right cocktail. $7.30 every two weeks after that with an expectation my allergies will be gone for good in about 2 years.
GoldieRosieKitty@reddit
If I had to go to the doctor's office every two weeks I would literally die.
What a pain
RainAlternative3278@reddit
Wow , Really hadn't a clue about that . That's actually good to know thank you
JeffDoer@reddit
Turns out the fake Sudafed doesn't work for anyone else either. The real stuff is the only thing that helps when my allergies are or of control.

TykeDream@reddit
In my state, when someone pleads guilty to a meth related offense, they are prohibited from buying them for 5 years from when they complete their sentence. It's annoying having to explain to people who are meth users (often, but not always, below average intelligence) what the fuck they can't have. I explain I'm not a chemist, otherwise I'd have become a doctor, but it's the shit behind the counter at the pharmacy and if they're worried about their doctor giving them something, explain they can't have anything that is a precursor to making meth.
Somewhere out there, I'm sure some doctor has gotten this comment from a client and said to themselves, "I'm not a lawyer, otherwise I'd be able to get high after work without worrying about my DEA license."
Kp1234321@reddit
Nope, they just make you sign for them with a pharmacist so you can’t steal them and make meth.
StephAg09@reddit
They also track how much you buy and there is a monthly limit iirc at least in my state (CO)

Fs_ginganinja@reddit
It’s a super weird one, I’ve known people who got it IMMEDIATELY when they started using it, and I’ve got people who litterally crush an ounce a week and have never been bothered by it
Sharp_Reception_9754@reddit
I know one person who had it from immediate use, but he was straight-edge for years first, so I wonder if there was some anxiety or something involved too.
Fs_ginganinja@reddit
Yeah sometimes I also wonder if it’s some sort of allergy… our bodies do all sorts of weird things when they decide not to like something. I know a guy who “never like seafood”(not allergic), over time he got over it and had prawns at the buffet one night BAM shellfish allergy, full blown. It was like his brain already knew.
Granya_Kalash@reddit
I am that ounce a week smoker and thought I had caught it. Turns out it was a reaction to a medication I had started.

greypusheencat@reddit
tapeworms made me do a double take 😭 but fiber pills??? interesting
jailbird@reddit
Around 10 years ago I tried insoluble fiber pills as supplements to my regular diet. You just eat a couple with plenty of water which they absorb, so you feel full for a couple of hours without getting in calories into your body. They're surprisingly effective, I have managed to get off a lot of weight thanx to them. Also, they slow down digestion, good for gut health, regulate blood sugar, lower choresterol levels... I am not sure why aren't they more popular.
miss_tea_morning@reddit
You can also just get the psyllium husk powder and drink it with water.
TemporaryGrowth7@reddit
Is psyllium husk non soluble fibre?
miss_tea_morning@reddit
Google sez: Mostly soluble. While a small amount of insoluble fiber may be present, the majority of fiber in psyllium husk is classified as soluble.

Adderall and its generics are really hard to get right now. Source: ADHD individual who is without…
dontlookformehere@reddit
What is making it hard? I have no problem getting mine
jjjjjjj30@reddit
The government is regulating how much can be manufactured and they're not showing enough for everyone who is currently prescribed.
I take it for extremely severe narcolepsy and I had trouble getting it for about a year and had to switch to something less effective with time of bad side effects.
I can barely walk to the bathroom without it. I sleep 22-45 how at a time without it. It's the only thing that gives me any quality of life and even with it, it's not much.
I had been getting mine pretty consistently until last month my pharmacy differently gives me a different brand and if you've ever tried different brands you likely know some of them don't work at all for majority of people. So a complete loss of a month for me.
I actually respond better to Vyvanse but I can't get that at all right now.
ohmarlasinger@reddit
Idk what state you’re in or what the insurance landscape looks like where you are but this is my hack for always getting my script filled.
In my state blue cross basically has a monopoly. Meaning the vast majority of the state is covered under bcbs.
CVS stopped accepting bcbs years ago so I had switched to Walgreens. Try to fill my script 3-4yrs ago & Walgreens was a no go forever.
So I said fuck it, & had it sent to CVS instead. They will automatically apply the best “goodrx” or whatever type of discount /group type thing that is available to them if they dont accept your insurance. Tbh, it may even be cheaper than if insurance paid for it. (It’s around $30 for 60 20mg instant releases).
I have never had to go without. They always have them, Walgreens still has issues though.
So find out what insurance is most used in your state, see if there’s a pharmacy that doesn’t accept that insurance & try there.
jjjjjjj30@reddit
That is a super smart strategy!!! Thank you! I'll def look into this!
KaidaShade@reddit
And the best part is it doesn't even just affect the USA! There's been huge shortages in the UK and some other countries as well because, for some fucking reason, we don't make any ourselves and it's all imported from there. So once the US quotas run out, we're fucked too.
As someone who works in the industry and takes methylphenidate for ADHD, it boggles my goddamn mind. We have companies who COULD make it, and an expanding market. They just don't.
jjjjjjj30@reddit
It's ridiculous. It's crazy. It's unethical. I'm literally suicidal without it. I have no quality of life without it. Idk exactly what their motive is, but druggies gonna drug regardless, if that's why they're doing this.
sunshinemom89@reddit
I'm sorry you're having a difficult time getting your meds. My son and I both take generic Adderall ER, we have also had lots of issues getting his medicine specifically. If it's not the pharmacy being out of stock, it's the prescriber being problematic. Nonetheless, we finally found him a solid provider. It's a real pain in my rear but I do call the pharmacies near me daily around the date of when he needs a refill to verify it is in stock. My kid can't afford to go another month off meds or he will probably fail this year 🙄 I'm not sure where you're located but I've had the best success with refills at Walmart Neighborhood Market and CVS. Best of luck to you!
jjjjjjj30@reddit
Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately, the Walmart in my area carries a brand of Adderall that doesn't work for me. At all. It's like taking a sugar pill. And if you read up on the differences in different brands you will likely be greatly surprised at how different the composition or whatever is allowed to be.
I've had the most luck at CVS as well. They have one really great pharmacist at mine and we've become friends lol. I have his cell number bc he wants to help me as much as possible bc he sees how bad I suffer without my meds. Everything has been going pretty well for a while until this past pick up they suddenly gave me a different brand that doesn't work for me. Up until then they had always given me the brand I needed but for whatever reason they couldn't get any of that this past month. It's really rough. Luckily, 2 of my kids are grown but I have a 9 year old I need to be awake for to take care of!!! That's the worst part about all this for me.
The government has zero realization or care for how much they are hurting us. People need these medicines! Even with ADHD, not having meds can even be a safety issue for some people if they have it mad enough. And like you said with your son, some people will fall out of school bc of this. It's just horrible.
KaidaShade@reddit
Literally that. It's structurally similar and has similar action to meth, so obviously it's gotta be controlled like meth /s
Sec0nd_Mouse@reddit
Often shortages at the end of the year. Pharmacist explained it to me once, something about how the mfgrs have to get pre approval from the DEA every year for what they will produce. With more and more people prescribed it every year, they often underestimate and run out of supply by EOY.
whosat___@reddit
This + the fact manufacturers are focusing on more profitable drugs, purposefully restricting the flow of generic Adderall so patients switch to things like Vyvanse or atomoxetine. I forget where I saw it, but someone did an investigation last year and found no manufacturer actually exhausted their supply from the DEA.

Nicotine both suppresses appetite and increases metabolism. If you avoid inhaling it and use pouches (zyns) instead, there aren't too many physical downsides. I think I read somewhere that a single 3 mg pouch in the morning is enough to get the benefit. It's something like 17% increased metabolism and you feel less hungry.
lhmk@reddit
This comment may single-handedly get me to use nicotine again
Greenfireflygirl@reddit
I've done medical transcription for a palliative care doctor. One of the most traumatic patients was a woman who had her lower jaw, half of her upper jaw, part of her throat and her tongue removed because of cancer from chewing tobacco. She was having pain and her appliance wasn't fitting well and causing infection. By appliance I mean her fake half of a face. The doctor told me she would never have that surgery herself and would rather die. I think the patient lived only a few months anyway.
downquark5@reddit
Nicotine can give you erectile dysfunction. It is a powerful vasoconstrictor and very very addictive. Do not use nicotine

Letters_to_Dionysus@reddit
your gums may recede and you can still lose teeth from them. they cause cancer too. whether or not there's tons of carcinogens, having an irritant in your gums all the time will fuck them up
ApeBlender@reddit
That makes me feel....unethical
1981Reborn@reddit
Shocked I had to scroll this far to find the most simple and obvious answer. Nicotine has been used to suppress appetite since humankind discovered tobacco.
One-Aside-7942@reddit
Would patches work?
1981Reborn@reddit
I don’t see why not. But I think nicotine patches are usually low-dose for people trying to quit. I might be wrong though. And you could always use multiple patches until you get the desired effect.
hectorxander@reddit
Back in the day they did snus, which was like they removed the essense of the tobacco and made it into a powder they would sniff a little of.
Congress still has an ornate box on the floor that contains snuss, they dip something in there, sniff a bit, I think it's small amounts nothing like coke where you are doing huge lines.
Perfect_Earth_8070@reddit
isn’t nicotine bad for the heart tho?
ApeBlender@reddit
Yeah but so is being overweight and eating unhealthy. Depending on how heavy OP is and how much weight they plan on losing, it might be a net benefit to their heart (completely talking out of my ass)
Perfect_Earth_8070@reddit

Adderall.
I actually have ADHD and need this medicine to function, but it's suppressed my appetite for the past 20 years so I don't recognize hunger cues anymore. (This is also partly due to hyper focus being a symptom of ADHD) I eat normally and get the nutrition I need, but yeah I don't over eat or gain weight. I weigh the same as I did in highschool and I'm nearly 40.
Infinite-Condition41@reddit
I take it intermittently. Appetite suppression isn't working very well.
BloodMoneyMorality@reddit (OP)

_kiss_my_grits_@reddit
Adderall is a different class of drug though. It's an amphetamine. I literally take amphetamine salts 5mg, generic Adderall. Vyvanse did absolutely nothing for my ADHD. Maybe try Adderall?

This is completely false. Vyvanse is also an amphetamine. The generic name is literally lisdexamfetamine. It's the same active ingredient as 75% of Adderall (dexamphetamine), just in a form that has to be activated by digestion which is what makes it last longer.
I didn't like Vyvanse much either, it gave me insomina
hectorxander@reddit
How would one go about finding these salts and are they safe if dosed correctly?
I was looking into finding some analog/variant of the khat stimulant what's it called, that's not illegal. The sobriety squad is very much against them but idk how credible any of their assertions about it's dangers are seeing as they've no credibility.
_kiss_my_grits_@reddit
I cannot speak on where as I only have mine through a Rx. They're monitored though. Most places drug test regularly in order for you to get refills. IF you do find this medication - I am not talking about street drugs like meth, then you'd want to be careful of the dose.
Either way, this drug can cause long term damage to your body if not taken properly.
hectorxander@reddit
For sure stimulants need to be used responsibly. I want to treat add with something to keep me on track. So you have a script for them? I was looking for something off script as they are impossible for some of us to get, depends on that state and it's prohibitively expensive. I also don't feel like I should need a permission slip to use a drug.
stripeddogg@reddit
there will always be tolerance with stimulants. if you want wegovy then research peptides are the only way to go.. I see 300mg for under $200 now
brapstick@reddit
Just start drinking cold water whenever you get hungry then
Formal_Hearing3725@reddit
You don't need the meds to function. I was in the same situation on adderall for almost 2 decades. Wait until it catches up with you. The old saying, "if it seems too good to be true, it is," applies here. Most people don't want to have that convo though bc the meds give them such a high. Bring on the down votes!
_kiss_my_grits_@reddit
Respectfully, you do not know me or my medical history. I understand you're trying to tell people they don't need medication, but this is a legitimate mental disorder that for some, like myself, need it to go about our day. My brain does not make the same chemicals as people who do have this disorder. I don't get high off this medication, I feel nothing. It's just finally quiet in my head and I can do things.
I think it's wrong to assume people that take ADHD meds are doing it because they get high off it. That's like saying I take Valium to get high instead of "dealing" with anxiety. That's not a safe assumption. It also devalues legitimate struggles people have with this disorder.
SexWithHoolay@reddit
You actually got downvoted for this. Man Redditors are stupid.
_kiss_my_grits_@reddit
Yeah, but what are ya gonna do? I've got 20 years in healthcare and 25 years taking the med, but what do I know?

if you're looking for that speed-y feeling, phentermine is an old school weight loss drug that makes people a little insane but skinny
streptomycinn@reddit
Having been rx’d both, Vyvanse is like phentermine but better in my experience. Phentermine worked for me for about a month and then I developed a tolerance. Then I was rx’d 70mg Vyvanse daily and I lost 30 lbs and have kept it off for the past 5 years. Normal BMI for the first time in my adult life.

hectorxander@reddit
Is that like a stimulant? They used to sell low grade amphetamines as weight loss drugs. It would be similar to the add meds now. Then drug stores would sell something to help come down for the nightime.
fr3sh0j@reddit
phentermine is classed as an anoretic, psychostimulant and NDRA and had a high risk of abuse and therefore is a controlled substance. meaning it suppresses appetite, stimulates the central nervous system and releases dopamine. phentermine makes you very active, messes with your CNS to reduce appetite and trick you into not being hungry and then it releases dopamine to make you feel good about it all.
It’s not popularly prescribed anymore because it has A LOT of side effects—rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, mood swings, insomnia (hence your reference for needing something to “come down”), addiction (it’s only prescribed for a max of 12wks and people didn’t react well to being cut off)… and the commonly prescribed form, fen-phen, combined with Fenfluramine was straight up banned in the UK because of its link to pulmonary hypertension.
It’s not as effective as an ADD or ADHD medication because its half life was quick and the dosages generally are low because of the side effects.
I’ve seen patients prescribed phentermine and their personalities totally changed while being on it—suddenly they have rage issues (more than just being hangry) and their heart rates went up and stayed up while taking it and tachycardia for prolonged periods can be dangerous.
It was really popular in the 90s when everyone wanted to be 80s coke skinny without the cocaine and it IS effective in weight loss if you can use it to boost yourself in high gear and can tolerate being a raging bitch for 3 months.

nookiewacookie1@reddit
has no one mentioned an ECA stack? Ephedrine is absolutely an effective appetite suppressant. the only reason it was banned for weight loss drugs is because of the ways the companies promotes it as risk free... the highlighted risk is increased BP and/or heart rate. don't do 3x day football drills or HIIT and you'll be fine. cycle on an off 6-12 weeks and it will be great.
you can get it as "bronkaid"
BloodMoneyMorality@reddit (OP)

nookiewacookie1@reddit

hectorxander@reddit
Ephedra. Hard to find, get the whole plant, make tea, too much makes one nauseaus but it's good in smaller amounts. It is a type of speed. They sell bronch aid at drug stores that has some of the same active ingredient, ephedrine but you are limited in the number you can buy in a month and I didn't notice any speed from them despite supposing to have 25 mg ephedrine of some kind.
Hard to get though, prince herb sells but it's too expensive, search engines don't show results for that stuff anymore to any usable degree.
MouseCat321@reddit
I was just looking online the other day to see where I could find this again and hoping it quietly came off the ban list. I know people had trouble with it in the 90's because of abuse but it was honestly the best and natural. Navigating the internet for it is a pointless task. If you have any tips and the time to share them, please dm me.
hectorxander@reddit
It's not illegal in plant form. It's supplements because yes some bodybuilders and other types took to much and killed themselves. It is suppressed in other ways however apparently, because it's not available in the same manner Kratom is online.
But if one had a non corrupted search engine one could find it for better prices.
The key though is realizing you need the asian strain. There are related american strains that don't have the active ingredient and sellers will not post that it's nevadensis and not sinensis. They must have already got the ULPT in marketing their products. You need ephedra sinensis. Ebay is all bullshit for it as I'm aware.
If anyone knows a better supplier than princeherb which is prohibitively expensive, if anyone knows of a goo supplier, I would love to hear it. Not for weight loss I want for add as I can't get meds.
MouseCat321@reddit
Yeah it really is effective for add as well. I'm in nyc and have gone to a few Asian herbalist places over the years and they want nothing to do with me, though I'm positive they have it.
hectorxander@reddit
That was the advice given to me, to find asian stores to sell it. I went to a vietnamese grocer and am positive they wouldn't sell it to me if I asked. If a place did sell to the population at large all it would take is the cops/prosecutors/et al finding about it and they would find other ways to persecute that company unfortunately.
Not illegal de jure in plant form to sell in person, but illegal de facto. Which is to say it's not illegal in law to sell in plant form, but it is illegal in fact if not law because they could and would find ways to make that business pay for doing it.

ECA stack, drink 1 8oz glass of water before eating at all times, or if you are medically overweight and it's recommended to do weight loss (and you're not just looking for this to feed a disordered eating mentality) get a referral to a weight loss clinic that offers non-ADHD stimulants that are approved for this purpose. There are a few FDA approved meds that work similarly and are specifically for that purpose too.
Obviously know it's an ULPT, so you do you, but want to also note that most of these suggestions are hella disordered eating so I hope if you engage in these behaviors long term, you are connected to a therapist or healthcare provider that can support you w/ other healthier and sustainable options for weight loss. Can't tell the context but just want to mention this disclaimer.
Sadly the "looking for weight loss drugs to ED pipeline" is often dismissed or not talked about, especially those that have a larger body, but it can become a thing for some and I don't wish that upon anyone.

My sister's rybelsus works out to $75 a month, ordered from India. she chops the 14mg tabs in half. If you need 14mg. Then you are at $150 month. You need payapl and email.
From Mexico a bot more expensive but product in hand for cash. $200-$240 a month. ($100-$120 if on 7mg)
Both option dont enforce the prescription requirement.
nopenope12345678910@reddit
lol those pills are specially coated to protect the peptide bonds of the API from stomach acid. Your sister is throwing money away cutting those in half. I’d be willing to bet the packaging explicitly says do. Or cut or crush the pills.
Why isn’t she just ordering real injectable semaglutide from China is she is already fine with the whole importing meds from a 3rd world country thing. It’s cheaper and more effective.

Ab workouts- genuinely. Appetite suppression happens when your stomach feels full. If your muscles are loose, your gut can protrude out, so your stomach will be available to stretch and accommodate more food, and not feel full doing it. A good, regular, ab workout keeps your core tight and limits how much room the stomach has to expand, making it's volume smaller, and thus, being fuller on less.
rainbowdonkey69@reddit
Any workout as long as it's high intensity, but your reasoning here is 100% not a thing lol. It's all hormones. Your claim fits well with your name though! "Some bro on the internet said it"
SomeBroOnTheInternet@reddit
Sigh... here we go with the simplest version I can give without getting into reflexes and nerve pathways and all the rest of that shit. The hormones you're talking about are mainly leptin and ghrelin. Specifically, ghrelin, the hunger hormone, is released/regulated based on the state of stretch receptors in the stomach. Those stretch receptors detect the level of stretch of stomach tissues, which is essentially a way for your body to gauge how full the stomach is. The cells those stretch receptors are on have a baseline firing rate and a variable firing rate, based on the level of stretch detected by the receptors. And like most reactive cells, they can be hypersensitized or hyposensitized based on the variation of the range of whatever it is they're responding to, in this case, the level of stretch of the stomach tissue (for an imperfect analogy, it's like adding a speed limiter to a car. Going 80mph is now going 100% of the max speed as far as the car knows, even thou the engine can do more). So, the way this applies to limiting hunger is when you apply physical (bariatric surgery) or pressure (intra abdominal pressure) based limits externally to the stomach, you change the ability of that tissue to stretch, which changes the range of the stretch receptors, which down regulates the firing rate of the cell signal to release ghrelin, which limits ghrelin release, aka, sending less "hunger hormone" to the brain.
It's more complicated than that, but that's the shortest version I can give on a surprisingly expansive topic.
rainbowdonkey69@reddit
Right. I understand what you're saying. But abdominal workouts aren't tightening the stomach so less food fits. You could make the argument that it may slow stomach emptying and you feel fuller longer but I can find no articles or studies repeating your claim beyond the production of the hormones.
SomeBroOnTheInternet@reddit
The goal isn't make it so less food fits in the stomach overall, it's about the bodily response to less food and changing the perception of less food. Stay with me, you're getting closer. It's not about tightening the stomach itself, it's about reducing the intra-abdominal volume by decreasing laxity in the walls. Abdomen workouts significantly strengthen and tighten the abdominal wall, especially in previously poorly nourished individuals who were without training regimens and who classically have issues due to weak walls and subsequent pressure imbalances (diverticulosis, constipation, abdominal herniation, gi stasis, etc). That rebuilding of abdominal wall strength causes a decrease in laxity and an increase in resistance to distention -->decrease in intra abdominal volume --> increased intra abdominal pressure --> increased external pressure applied to stomach and intestines/resistance to expansion (obviously the same thing because of foundational principles of how pressure works) By adding that pressure you're going to lead to a change in the firing rates of those sensors like we talked about earlier, because they are based on stretch, which is highly influenced by pressure. So thay process is going to lead to less hunger hormone release as we established. So you'll feel fuller on more food because it takes less added pressure from the increase in the volume from the stomach to change the frequency from firing more hungry signals to firing less of them. And when you reduce the hunger hormone production, you're going to feel fuller faster and for longer. So what then happens over time is that because the stomach is being stretched less (because you're not eating as much because you feel less hungry) it is going to slowly become less stretched at baseline as it was before. Notice the feedback loop there. Over time, that process occurs, and the sensitivity of the stretch receptors will also continue to adjust along with the stomach. So now, the stomach becomes less and less stretched as baseline, so it takes less volume in a single serving before starting to stretch (but if you keep pushing it, it will go back to its previous state of being more stretched and holding more at baseline as before) and that stretch is going to shut off that ghrelin signal quicker because the sensor is detecting 100% stretch sooner. It's not "shrinking" as in it holds less, it's just changing the degree of stretch, the baseline of stretch, and the sensitivity to responding to stretching, meaning treating a lower volume as the baseline and changing the scale for fullness because of its change to sensitivity to stretching (both at the level of the tissue and the sensors). This is part of why momentum is so important weight loss regimens, it's all down stream effects, and they don't happen overnight. Hence the "regular" aspect of it. Another good example is if you do workout and you utilize phases of cutting and bulking, when you switch back to a bulk after a long cut, it's hard to get all that bulking food down even though it was easy at the top of your last bulk, because your baseline has changed.
(Again, simplified for ease of understanding)

This is ethical but metformin! If you're overweight, get your blood checked for insulin resistance. A1c, and combine that with fasting blood sugar and insulin production to get an insulin resistance estimate called HOMA-IR. If it's high you're a good candidate for metformin. you don't have to be prediabetic or diabetic to start metformin. If you are insulin resistant it will probably help you lose weight.
