This site seems fishy - anyone has experience?

I was trying to buy a truck and stumbled upon the website called stateonlineauction dot com. It seems innocent enough but the way it lets you register and asks to upload identity etc., makes me a bit nervous. anyone has experience with this site?

Never ever upload any ID, driver's license, etc. Even if they are giving cars away.

Without verifying your identity, who do you think is considering your bid? A child can also bid

So not sure if you have purchased anything on auction sites. The ones I have used and friends have used require a charge card to secure bids and most children don't have a Visa card. You setup a profile with the card number which is verified and that is it,

I checked the site, while I had never heard of this site before it looks legit. The phone area code matches the claimed address. The about us page shows a brick & mortar location. Street view shows an auction yard based on given address. The registration page looks like normal stuff that would be needed for basic info on persons that would be using this service. I am going to save it, I may find something in the future I would bid on.

I did the same checks, my cousin is from New York and I sent him there specifically to check and everything is true.

I was nervous about buying online, but Stateonlineauction made the process easy and transparent. I’ll definitely use them again for future purchases!

Hello, I’ve stumbled onto this site through an ad on Facebook. It took me to www.stateonlineauction.com
As I noticed extremely nice trucks, I decided to bit understanding that $9,450 minimum bid for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma with 61,000 miles was a killer deal. Being a 4x4 off road model to be specific… I bidded for $9,460. As I kept scrolling a 2014 ford raptor for $11,375 showed up with 88,700 miles with a ton of aftermarket parts it looks flawless. I decided I would go ahead and bid on it for $11,400…$25 more than the lowest minimum bid. Commiitting and knowing I have enough for the delivery fee, and knowing I’m probably not going to win a Toyota Tacoma 2019 off road model 4x4 for $9460. I decided it’ll be alright to bid on this $11,400 ford raptor from 2014 with 88,700 miles and an amazing ADD bumper and back bumper and forged wheels and all kinds of goodies jn the prehistoric 10 year old Raptor. So I kept scrolling and ran into an even more interested truck for $8,312 dollars I could own a 2013 Ford STX Tuscany a Roush supercharged ford f-150 with 99k miles. I decided to go ahead and bid $8400 as I probably wasn’t going to win a 2019 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with 61k miles for $9460, a 2014 Ford Raptor with 88.7k miles for $11,400 so I decided I’d bid and what do you know!!! The 2013 Ford F-150 bid I’ve won… the 2014 Ford Raptor bid I’ve won. &!!! Waiting still pending 1 more hour the 2019. Toyota Tacoma 4x4 with 61k miles pending with a (binding contract) for bidding I’ve won?! Is this for real. They’re going to give me these trucks for a fraction of what the msrp is?? Get real… this has got to be a scam site!!! Prove me wrong. Please… I’m begging you.

After hearing about Stateonlineauction from a friend, I decided to try it out using referral code 0203. I bid on three cars and ended up winning one. The process was smooth, and the car arrived in perfect condition. Initially, I was concerned about purchasing from an online auction, but after seeing the same vehicles listed on other platforms and learning about their reputable partners, I felt reassured. I’m really happy with my purchase!"

Stateonlineauction. com made buying a car easy and hassle-free. The staff was extremely helpful, and the vehicle arrived in excellent condition. Will definitely use them again

LOL. My thoughts exactly but I have never used auction sites, hence posted the question.

Of course you're wrong, I also bid and won and despite the bad comments here, the truck actually arrived at my house, I invite you to my house to see the truck! DON'T TRUST EVERYTHING YOU SEE ON THESE FORUMS.

Scam. The website was registered on 1/4/2025, and for just one year.
Mohammadaslman@reddit
They announced to all the old users that they would change their site, the old accounts remained active, someone had copied their site and they were forced to change it.

Looks like a scam to me. Auctions from pawn shops, or any kind of state of fleet sales never look like professional pictures with detailed vehicles. And of course a big groups of 40 people is not going to let nice cars and trucks go through at well under market without bidding on them themselves.

The first time buyer discount of 35% should be enough to tip you off that this is not legitimate
jrileyy229@reddit
Absolutely not legit
