I ignored the DRAM light on my motherboard because I could get into BIOS/UEFI and make changes and install windows. THAT WAS A MISTAKE!

Thought I'd share this (submitted 22 days ago).
MB B650 Aorus Elite AX V2 CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7700X RAM G skill Flare X5 DDR5 6000MHz
PC can go into boot menu after trying to post with one stick of ram (2 stick ram kit) but the dram lights stays on permanently.
I've tried checking compatibility lists. Tried both the latest bios version and second oldest. I've tried CMOS clear and multiple reboots but nothing works. Tried un-tightening the CPU cooler and inspecting the socket pins.
People on this subreddit or linustechtips either did not post until they replaced their parts or did and the dram light turns off.
Update: Don't ignore the DRAM light and pretend everything is hunky dory because you managed to install windows even though the pc is extremely unstable even on default settings.Don't be stingy and don't be impatient.
As a first time pc builder I should not have tried to just troubleshoot my way out of a rig that simply wasn't going to work. A sound person would have weighed up how much time was spent trying to get this pc to work and how unreliable it was and would have started ordering new parts or RMA procedure asap because that is the best option.
"Skill Issue" wasn't gonna get me out of this mess.
Either buy another RAM kit that is definitely on the QVL list for both motherboard and ram manufacturer as a first option before deciding it could be another pc part.
I had a technician from the computer store look at it and I was the second person he encountered to get a ram kit that would not work with my motherboard despite what the QVL say. Despite the fact that most people don't even look at the QVL do a bit of light research and have no issues getting their computer to post and run for years.
My ram kit would not work with another B650 Aorus Elite Ax V2 that he ordered from taiwan. But my motherboard worked with five other ram kits.
JUST TERRIBLE LUCK!

Which G.Skill Flare X5 6000 kit was it?

Gskill had a kit that was bundled with a lot of boards that was absolute trash, I know Microcenter carried them for a long time and were basically giving them away. Maybe you got some of that.

Yeah as a first time builder with no experience I followed a recommended pcpartspicker list and despite me not buying a bundle I ended up pairing this ram and mobo together.

To be fair, I've built hundreds if not more than a thousand PCs and I've never bothered to look at the QVL except for very strict workstation builds that really needed 100% stability with no overclocking at all. Never had a single problem with RAM on or off the QVL in 20+ years. Usually its just a plain bad kit.

That is what a colleague said as well she doesn't QVL just if the parts supports the current standard e.g. ddr5 or speed. And she doesn't really think too much about it. She has some experience doing this so she has spare parts to just swap out and try.
I had already blown my budget and with end of year expenses I weighed up between buying parts to try out or just getting a technician who has the equipment and parts to do a proper job and decided to let a professional figure it out for me.
Ended up paying more but I saved on time and uncertainty.
