Well now you've got me actually thinking about my texting patterns. I tend to end a lot of my own texts with "lol" if I'm saying something meant to be whimsical/lighthearted/mildly amusing. If I'm reacting to something funny someone else said, these days it's usually going to be a laugh emoji rather than anything typed out.

Back when everything was purely text based communication though, I was more of an "LOL" guy than "haha". But this had more to do with internet messaging apps and chatting in newsgroups and such. Phone texting didn't come along until some time later.
