On a good day Atleast 10 times these NATO awacs cross over my dorm.

The noise might be annoying but I’m jealous. I never get to see military aircraft where I live and I’d be excited even by a tanker or AWACs

I live in northern MN and get to see ANG F-16s and KC-135s quite frequently. Seen some pretty cool maneuvering and low level flying over the years.
SixLegNag@reddit
A cool trick is to live far enough away you don't get the house shaken, but get practice flights overhead still... though I'm a freak and like that kind of noise. I'm 8-9 miles away from the bases I'm near.
I never get to see anything as funky as this plane (or even a tanker) but I don't get sick of fighter jets and cargo planes, honestly. C-130s are cute with their propellers and C-5s are delightfully huge.

Works as a nice alarm occasionally

I work near a couple of US airbases in the UK and have fighters, AWACs, KC10s and Ospreys flying by everyday. Always interesting. Enjoy.

It’s an E3a sentry only installment nearby, naturally the only interesting thing in this town .
macetfromage@reddit
so a cia base? /s
BanverketSE@reddit
Not at freedom to say.
drumjojo29@reddit
It’s boring, yes, but it’s not that boring.
BanverketSE@reddit
You’re missing out on watching the river flow under the town square parking lot!
WhiskeyMikeMike@reddit
You don’t have kc-10s anymore haha
yourefunny@reddit
Of course, I even watched a vid about that! Either 135 or 46 then. Not sure, not enough knowledge.
WhiskeyMikeMike@reddit
Two engines = 46 and four engines (like the one in the video) = 135
Stoney3K@reddit
AWACS? You live near Geilenkirchen?
exploration-device00@reddit (OP)
In Geilenkirchen and quite close to the airbase
BanverketSE@reddit
Geil!
Zamafe@reddit
This comment is funnier if you speak Dutch
Saidai_V@reddit
Why is that? I mean it’s funny in German because of the words, but Dutch?
Zamafe@reddit
In Dutch geil means horny
Saidai_V@reddit
Ah ok, in German it means sexually attractive or just cool in general.
Shadow969@reddit
it also means horny, lol
Saidai_V@reddit
The meaning changes over time.
Shadow969@reddit
and yet it retained its original intent as well, describing that you are horny.
Saidai_V@reddit
Sorry for not explaining myself, it changes as you grow up. When you're a child you use it to describe something cool, as you grow up you start using it in a sexual manner.
Shadow969@reddit
I accept. 😂👌
6inarowmakesitgo@reddit
Sooo a fast one or the whole two minutes?
Saidai_V@reddit
Please elaborate.

Man all I get is the Air National Guard C-130s practicing touch and goes over my house on the weekend
DoughLloyd@reddit
Lived one block (less than 800m) away an airportstrip with daily F-16’s taking off, landing and sometimes flying by. 📣
Broad-Log-125@reddit
Nice! Not something most of see ever
Ric0chet_@reddit
I hope you're wearing lead underwear
ParsnipRelevant3644@reddit
My first thought was here at Tinker, Oklahoma, where most of the E-3s are. I'd rather still be at GK, was there last month.
cobaltblue1666@reddit
Username checks out!
BanverketSE@reddit
Ah, reminds me of my childhood! Whenever they did touch and gos on Wednesdays, they flew just like 1000 feet over my house, making everything shake, and even in the basement, I’d have had to shout to be able to talk with someone.
War geil
UnemployedIsrafil@reddit
it's over bro. ww3 is here. anyday now
t12lucker@reddit
Aren’t these awacs in air basically 24/7 in some rotation?
exploration-device00@reddit (OP)
On a serious note I’ve heard like 18 just this morning here, mostly e3a sentry’s but an occasional tanker
bottom4topps@reddit
Cool man! When I was coming up I always quietly said to myself “…and this one wears a funny hat”
