I love pepper Intel. Idiots can come in here and post any conspiracy website.
SlySquire@reddit (OP)
What about that website is conspiracy related?
InterstellarReddit@reddit
Take a look at the articles on there bro. One of them literally says that Trump will end the GLP1 shortage.
How the fuck is going to do that? The shortage is a supply demand issues lol. Not a political one

Op is still arguing with me that you can "still fly at an airport".
Yeah - well here's my dji app. I can't get near an airport anywhere in the world, INCLUDING THE US.
bikumz@reddit
What in the world do the different colors mean? Guessing red is no go but what about the rest lol
lerpo@reddit
Full guide from the app :)
PsudoGravity@reddit
Wow. Time for a custom build imo.
bikumz@reddit
Thank you! I honestly love the fact they break it down and define what they mean.
I wonder what the protocol is if your done goes into hover mode into restricted area:P like does DJI send info to FAA? Alert someone at area? Super cool the app has different levels as well.

We've noticed with my husband's drone that there's a spot in our town where it cuts out for him. He can't see the screen view anymore. It's not an FAA zone, but it is close to where I know our police resources watch from above during town events. So, I feel like they may have a jammer or something. It's always been curious to us!
lerpo@reddit
Your drone is synced to your account properly. But if it does managed to get in the location, it auto lands.
The other option is, the fence physically doesn't let you near the arra It would be like a shield in that area.
Also, the speed they'd find you and arrest you would be crazy lol. Your phone, controller, drone is all GPS synced
bikumz@reddit
When I looked into it, what interested me is the hover more it kicks into. It said hover not land which is interesting because the battery would die eventually. I’m sure it’s then sent somewhere so the drone can be recovered and owner tracked down. That’s a really cool piece of tech.
lerpo@reddit
It's a good laugh to play around with, nice way to make money on the side - the "chase function" is awesome when driving and doing activities

Direct from the FAA LANNC website,”LAANC provides:
Drone pilots with access to controlled airspace at or below 400 feet”
Controlled airspace includes airports.
lerpo@reddit
Thank you for the link, from that site -
"Drone pilots planning to fly under 400 feet in controlled airspace around airports must receive an airspace authorization from the FAA before they fly.
LAANC is available to pilots operating under the Small UAS Rule Part 107 or under the exception for Recreational Flyers. You can get access through one of the FAA Approved LAANC UAS Service Suppliers"
flying_wrenches@reddit
Oh shoot I misread the post title yeah nvm you’re right. This is pure misinformation.
flying_wrenches@reddit
People can’t follow the rules so they’re having to be enforced for them.

https://viewpoints.dji.com/blog/geo-system-update
"With this update, DJI’s Fly and Pilot flight app operators will see prior DJI geofencing datasets replaced to display official Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data. Areas previously defined as Restricted Zones (also known as No-Fly Zones) will be displayed as Enhanced Warning Zones, aligning with the FAA's designated areas. In these zones, in-app alerts will notify operators flying near FAA designated controlled airspace, placing control back in the hands of the drone operators, in line with regulatory principles of the operator bearing final responsibility."
Its literally on their website. An in app warning only. It no longer takes over flight controls.
lerpo@reddit
It's the same system they rolled out in the UK - and yet look at my app. I can't fly near these areas highlighted.
"It means that operators will now follow localised flight-map information and restrictions stipulated by the aviation authority for the country that the drone is being flown in, rather than those suggested by DJI."
bikumz@reddit
Can I ask why this is prepper news? Cars or planes to not automatically stop when driving into a restricted area. DJI drones can be jammed. In most cases airports are really only secure while entering through the terminal and such, where the rest is just a fence that a car can go right through or person could even climb.
SlySquire@reddit (OP)
They have the potential to cause massive and widespread disruption.
bikumz@reddit
As I mentioned, so can cars or planes. Most airports I’ve been to don’t even have hard barriers beyond the fences. I would worry about that more than drones. It’s only very almost scary to me someone could drive right through a fence and be on the tarmac.
flying_wrenches@reddit
Most have airport wide camera systems.
I got lost at Indianapolis and called the airport authority. They were able to find me in under like 2 minutes and guided me where to go by following me with said cameras.
This is a tiny airport compared to a larger one like Atlanta or JFK.
Trust me, they know.
bikumz@reddit
I mentioned driving through a fence, did you think this would go unnoticed….? Like someone sneakily drive through a fence from the road? Let alone anyone from the road, many windows at an airport, or whatever calling the police but people on the tarmac wouldn’t notice?
My point is about the ability to cause panic, disruption, or hell an outright attack.
I work at a secure terminal, point of entry into the country if you will. Just because they know, does not mean police will be there in a timely manner. Plenty of people have scanned themselves in (against law) and it takes 10+ minutes for someone to show up. That’s a small space. Imagine a giant airport. Or other restricted area.

bikumz@reddit
Thank you. I saw your other comment with your own screen shot. Very cool very swag.
SlySquire@reddit (OP)
It's easier with a drone. You can be out of sight and launch multiples of them. Then you can slip away. Try driving onto an airport and see the response you get.
bikumz@reddit
I don’t think you understand the concept of mass disruption or terrorism in the US if you think the people we should worry about themselves are worried about the response they will get. Damage will be done by then. I promise you a car driving through an airport fence will get someone’s cause to a lot more eyes vs a drone flying over an airport.
You can do the same kinda disruption with a RC plane. Those don’t have the same restrictions, yet this is news? How about homemade hobbies drones. Have you written to your senators to submit a bill to restrict all drones from take off and make them force cover when they fly through these zones?
lerpo@reddit
It's also fake information. Dji are switching it's geofence off and changing to a new system that will do the same thing.... Someone's just run with "dji turning off geofence" to, panic people

Fear mongering a bit. From when I understand, it's an update that ditches their proprietary no fly zones in favor of the FAAs, but I agree putting the responsibility to self-regulate on the drone operators, someone could take advantage and bypass warnings.
It's giving "my mom said you have to ask your mom if you're allowed to play"
flying_wrenches@reddit
This is closer to “you can’t follow the rules so now you have to ask before doing something”
lerpo@reddit
flying_wrenches@reddit
Took them long enough.
lerpo@reddit
flying_wrenches@reddit
People are supposed to do that during preflight. There was a whole app the FAA pushed a few years ago that checked airspace and let you apply for a LANNC authorization if needed.
People don’t understand and just take it out of the box the second they get home and fly it around.
BuffaloKiller937@reddit
What?
SlySquire@reddit (OP)
Just 6 days before the inauguration
lerpo@reddit
I'm going to keep posting this until you delete this story op. You're spreading misinformation
SlySquire@reddit (OP)
It only gives a warning now. It doesn't stop the drone flying as it once did.
lerpo@reddit
That's my app this second in the US.
I can't get anywhere near an airport with my dji, what are you talking about?. The app blocks it still. Its just using a different system than previous
Delete this misinformation it's utter clickbait garbage someone's made up to panic you

Your not in the US . You're in the UK. I'd like to see someone in the US state this first. I trust the source more than I trust Gpena on twitter.

My app is worldwide accessible and it updates for everyone using the same map...
lerpo@reddit
Just checked, I can't fly anywhere near an airport ect on my app
