pepper grinder broke mid twist over my roommate’s mac & cheese. she still ate it

oh god this happened to me once while making red beans. pretty early on in the cooking process so it was still quite watery/soupy. i was crying in the kitchen. it wasn't able to be salvaged. it takes so long but i had knew i was getting off work early that day. i was living with an ex GF and when we had time, she loved my red beans. i got home at ~3pm, got the soaked beans started, and labored over them all afternoon, it was a rare ordeal.

had to throw out a whole pound of beans, plus onion celery pepper, and i think we ended up eating grilled cheese and a pint of ice cream for dinner.

I once had the top come of a shaker of seasoning salt and dump a bunch of salt into my huge pot of ham and bean soup. It was too salty to eat so I made a second batch with no salt whatsoever and then mixed the two. Fuck ton of extra work and I was pissed but I was determined not to throw that pot of beans away. To this day I will not trust shaker tops when cooking.

Arrgh! I had that sort of thing happen today. I was adding some 1/2 salt the whole cottage cheese when the plastic cap broke, literally dumping a heaping tablespoon into the cheese. Unfortunately, even after trying to remove the salt, it was in-edible . Did your friend pick out most of the peppercorns, because I don't want to see him in my ER😋.
