If you're considering a 10/22 priced in at $170, you're probably not terribly worried about a suppressor that costs more than the gun
ho_merjpimpson@reddit
Just because I can afford a suppressor for $400+$200 stamp, doesn't mean I don't also want a threaded 10/22 for $170.
Entire_Routine_3621@reddit
You’re not getting a stripper receiver for this or much less than this. The purpose of this is to take the receiver out and build a custom 10/22.
ho_merjpimpson@reddit
Did you respond to the wrong person? Not sure what that has to do with my comment.
But... "The" purpose of this for 95% of buyers is to buy a basic bitch 10/22 and shoot it without a can.
MotivatedSolid@reddit
You ain’t gonna get a 10/22 threaded for $170. Can’t remember the last time I saw a 10/22 threaded for less than $250. You can’t have your cake and eat it too
ho_merjpimpson@reddit
Who said anything about "can and can't"?
You made it sound like someone that can afford a suppressor doesn't want to save money.
Lenarios88@reddit
On the other hand the cheapest possible 10/22 is also what people dropping a lot of money to fully upgrade the gun buy. I took this same 170 PSA deal a while back planning to get a new barrel anyway.
BoreBuddy@reddit
This model is the classic "bought a full gun to throw out everything but the receiver, mag and bolt" buy. We just started building 10/22s and bought a pair of these and did just that.
Anyone need a non-threaded barrel or cheap plastic stock?

thejohnfist@reddit
Unless you also happen to enjoy some 5.7x28mm
ohaimike@reddit
I'm kind of glad my 10/22 wasn't threaded because I really don't need to buy another suppressor
Can't impulse buy another can when I have nothing to mount it on
jim_jones1931@reddit
Learn to file bro.
J_MO08@reddit
Can’t own suppressor in my state is this a buy for a Californian with no 10/22 in collection?
echocharlie86@reddit
Send it. If you purchased a stripped receiver of the similar specs of the 10/22 from Brownells today, it would run you $118.99 before all the taxes and fees.
For some CA context. Back in 2014, the Xmas sale price at Turner's on the stainless model was $180ish.
J_MO08@reddit
Unfortunately was at work busy and now OOS
65grendel@reddit
But it's semi-fully automatic and you can buy a 25 caliber clip for it, are they legal in CA?

Phyraxus56@reddit
Dead before he hit the ground.
Rjsmith5@reddit
It depends on whether or not you want iron sights. No iron sights - this is it.
MotivatedSolid@reddit
This is great if you want a clean-slate to build off of or you just need a 10/22 to plink some small game or some cans in your backyard.
The great thing is that if you want to squeeze more out of it in the future and don't mind building it up, the aftermarket world is massive for 10/22's.
I'd say this is a good buy for a variety of reasons if you don't have a .22 yet.
xKHAZx@reddit
do you want to put .22” holes in things at a price of 5¢ per hole?
XxcOoPeR93xX@reddit
Forget the suppressor I just wanted to tame that recoil 😓
JJMcGee83@reddit
If you're building a 10/22 at $170 it's probably cheaper to get just to have the receiver. You can probably sell the barrel bolt etc for a few bucks and put whatever parts you want in it.
That said I suspect the people building a 10/22 probably want a higher quality receiver so this is probably moot.
spiceguys@reddit
just the tax stamp costs more than the gun teehee
99berettas@reddit
And it’s gone.
perfes@reddit
What is the cheapest model with a threaded barrel? Know in the past people recommended a collectors edition.
Big_Boi_Joe02@reddit
Mom said it’s my turn to comment “no threaded barrel”
Sudden_Construction6@reddit
Sometimes I have nightmares that I've died and come back as an unthreaded barrel 😓
hellowiththepudding@reddit
Could be worse - you could be a pencil profile, unthreaded barrel.
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
I hear some women prefer them unthreaded
420blzit69daddy@reddit
I hear they look longer after you get them threaded.
Big_Boi_Joe02@reddit
Sorry to hear that brother. Thoughts and prayers or Something🙏

festeringequestrian@reddit
I really want the wood stock one, but it’s probably not worth it for the extra $100 right?
I know this listed one doesn’t have iron sights, but does it have a spot on the barrel to add a front sight?
brs_one@reddit
If you want the wood stock one, get the wood stock one. Compared to this ($188.99 shipped before tax), it’s not even an extra $100, more like an extra $60
KentuckyTurtlehead@reddit
Thanks for the heads up! Just ordered one for my son, his birthday is in a couple weeks
brs_one@reddit
Ultimate father-son gift. Hope you guys make many fond memories with it
festeringequestrian@reddit
Awesome, thanks for the heads up just went with this one! Will be just under $300 with free shipping/taxes/FFL fee.
brs_one@reddit
Good choice. Enjoy!
Cosmonate@reddit
I got a used wooden stock off GAFS a few years back for $20. It was a little worn but I was refinishing it anyway, might be worth a shot.
Scientific_Coatings@reddit
It’s worth it imo. I really like a wood stock on these. Kinda just timeless.
J_MO08@reddit
Don’t have a 10/22 in my collection should I get this?
Vijaywada@reddit
100% yes.
BH11B@reddit
I don’t think i can trust a man if he doesn’t have one of these.
DeathKoil@reddit
Yes! Everyone should have a 10/22, or a few. They are cheap, reliable, infinitely upgradable, and the ammo is affordable. Great for plinking/ practice. Great for teaching people the basics of rifle shooting before moving to higher calibers.
SlyBeanx@reddit
Yes
Sea_Rooster_9402@reddit
Give me irons or give me death
GuysLeeFanboy@reddit
Wait for the threaded barrel model
ilikepie145@reddit
Can you a take out this barrel and add one that's threaded?
SkateJerrySkate@reddit
Obligatory comment:
What...no threaded barrel??
AmbitiousHunt@reddit
Sportsman's Warehouse had this for $169.99 + free s/h for a week or two in early December. Took a LONG time to ship though, like 3 weeks long to receive.
varealestateguy@reddit
Sometimes buying local can be cheaper after you factor in FFL, shipping etc. It is always worth a look.
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
Good price to get started on 10/22s. No irons on this but no one uses them anyways. If you really want a threaded barrel, you can pick up a Shaw for $100-120 on brownells when they’re on sale and still keep it cheap. Factory stock is what you’d expect for the price, Magpul, Promag, and Victor make some good replacements in the $100-200 range. There’s a few basic things like an automatic bolt release and extended mag release that are cheap and convenient. Limitless options on these and this is as cheap as it gets for the base rifle (and it works great out of the box if you don’t care about all that)
ChiefBigGay@reddit
There was a $70 kit posted on here a few days ago for the auto bolt release and all the common mod parts.
$130 barrel, $70 kit, $200 stock and you've got a fully custom 10/22 for $400+$170+FFL fee. Which is exactly what some people are looking to do.
I suppose you're probably changing the trigger at that point too, but that's up to you.
fap-faparoo@reddit
Pardon my ignorance: must one buy a finished gun to act as a donor for a 10/22 receiver/serialized-part?
Or, is there a "blank host" one could buy as a chassis for those upgraded items? (ie build direct instead of swapping)
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
I know Brownells and Black Rain Ordnance make decent cheap stripped receivers with integrated rails. Those are $150 though lol. They are better than a Ruger receiver and there are reasons to use them but if you don’t already know then you won’t need it. The stock receiver will handle 99% of wacky shit you wanna do to em. I only looked into one cause Green Mountain makes a 28” bull barrel and I am mentally ill
fap-faparoo@reddit
Much appreciated!
This chain of degenerate usernames has been exceedingly informative. I expected nothing less
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
Username does not check out, I expected too much
ChiefBigGay@reddit
You might be able to find just the 10/22 action somewhere and build from scratch third party, but not usually. A lot of competition people buy these in bulk and sell off the stock barrel and stock chassis.
A lot of the companies don't sell directly like that though. They only sell completed rifles so you have to buy the whole thing. Probably just less headache for them.
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
Trigger is definitely a bit heavy on these stock. There’s a huge variety of ways to fix it cheaply. DIY, Ruger BX trigger ($60 on sale), Brimstone Gunsmithing, Kidd/Volquartsen/TDK kits, etc

Is this the cheapest they go? Been meaning to pick one up for a bit. I saw a reply that said even Scheels can price match. So if I go in and get that done it’ll even save me a transfer fee
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
Idk about the price match but this is the cheapest I’ve seen by a solid margin. Closest I know of is at Dack which takes a month or two to ship and is still $186, for a similar model with irons
brs_one@reddit
Who has one of these? What’s the length of pull? I’ve heard it’s shorter than the standard, wood-stocked 10/22 carbine
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
Looks identical to the stock that came on mine; very short LOP, might as well be a youth model. Which makes sense for a 10/22 I guess
brs_one@reddit
Right! That’s what I’ve heard, but Ruger lists the OAL of this model (31210) as 37”, same as 1103’s (which I can confirm is 37”), so that adds a bit of confusion. You don’t happen to have a measurement, do you?
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
Don’t have it on hand, but that does sound in the ballpark. My mom is like 5 feet tall and it fits her comfortably lol
forever100dotcom@reddit
I'm looking to build a 10/22 but I'm having trouble finding somewhere that just sells receivers. I want to get the Magpul backpacker stock and make it more compact. Eventually want to upgrade the trigger and the bolt too, maybe add a scope. Do I need to buy a standard 10/22 like this one and then just change out the stock, trigger, etc? Is there a way to buy the parts and build my own 10/22 like I can with an AR?
Thanks in advance for the information!
Brundonlew@reddit
S&p out fitters has bare Ruger receivers as low as 60$ as well as most of if not all of the parts you need to build a gun from factory Ruger parts. Brownells receivers start around 100 and all the other brands go up from there.
xnmw@reddit
check on /r/1022 I've done one with a deal like this but my next one is going to be from the ground up with a kidd receiver, etc. There is a full aftermarket for these from the receiver up. Like an AR
Leotheo@reddit
just got the same model for a similar price at gunprime - no sales tax shipped to CA

Ok wise apples. Where’s the deal on the threaded barrel?
ChiefBigGay@reddit
A ton of people just like running suppressed .22 because it's whisper quiet.
A ton of people just want to shoot pennies at paper while wearing proper ear protection.
I'm in the middle, but I don't have a can. I was looking at getting this for the action and upgrading barrel anyways for competitions. There's nothing wrong with this gun or the price. People just echo chamber shit without even owning cans.
toomanyshoeshelp@reddit
Agreed - Why not just buy a threaded barrel

BIN? Wanted one as a kid
brs_one@reddit
This is the typical sale price, so no I wouldn’t say BIN. But if you’re into the polymer stock and no irons (I’m not), then yeah man send it
I’d much prefer the classic, hardwood-stock 10/22 carbine for a nostalgia buy. $249.99 shipped at Sportsman’s Outdoor
xKHAZx@reddit
Scheel’s will price match this 👀
EnvironmentalKick429@reddit
Just called mine, it comes out to $170 + $35 transfer fee “match” + $20 PSA shipping “match” = $225 pre-tax. Not sure if that’s as swinging of a deal?
Popular-Ad2193@reddit
I bought one at bass pro shops a couple weeks back and it came to like 235 with a scope. The scope was a cheap one but works fine
Jimothius@reddit
Pretty killer price to get a receiver and bolt in the form of a fully functional firearm.
spiceguys@reddit
this guy 10/22s
Voltron_BlkLion@reddit
In for one
Dauren1993@reddit
Damn no threaded barrel, maybe next time
xBR0SKIx@reddit
I run a binary trigger and a red dot i won from my LGS on this
ScubaLooser@reddit
Damn this is so cheap…I bought mine a few years ago for like $280 or something. I’ve mentioned on other posts to just buy the cheapest one you can find. You’ll ultimately upgrade everything on it. My volquartsen CF barrel cost more than the gun itself. I might buy another one since I have a green mountain heavy bull barrel laying around. Be a fun spare gun to have to shoot with friends and family
Procfrk@reddit
inb4 Not threaded (ofc it isn't goober, it hasn't and won't be at this price point. if you knew how to read and use the search function you'd know this!) :-p
