I was recently watching Xena with my boyfriend who started to say Gabrielle is supposed to be a young girl but the actress looked old. I was wondering how old was Renee in season 3?

Yes I think she's definitely thick for a white woman. Very curvy. I'm sure that's why they had her wearing that village girl bikini for a costume.

I think you’re too used to consuming modern media where women all have work done and are unrealistic. She looks fantastic and natural which is realistic and not all botoxed and plastic upped which is what you see on tv and media now. Also she is in no way heavier! She still has abs!

When you’re supposed to look like 19, it can be, for some people. Not everyone looked 15 years younger than they are like Lucy lawless!

Oh, she’s gorgeous. The issue, in my opinion, is that they were around the same age when the show started, but Xena looked older than Gabrielle. Renee just looked so very young, and Xena looked like the age they both actually were.

As the show progressed, Renee aged normally. Lucy absolutely didn’t. So by season 3, Renee looked three years older than she did at the start of the show (which makes sense), but Xena looks like she hasn’t aged a moment. So, assuming that Xena is 25 at the start and Gabrielle is 18, three years in, Gabrielle looks 21, and Xena still looks 25. Gabrielle doesn’t look so much younger any more.

It’s normal aging. Lucy just still looks 15 years younger than she is. Renee has maintained looking younger than she is, but not that much younger.

It’s truly nothing against Renee at all, she’s beautiful! Just, Lucy doesn’t age at all, like there’s some kind of black magic involved. That was all I meant from the other comment, I did word it horrendously.

According to the Hercules Legendary Journeys wiki she was supposed to be 17 when she met Xena. I thought Renee O'Connor, who would have been around 23 or 24 when she started playing the role, did an excellent job of portraying the youth and innocence of a teenager at the beginning of the series. Six years later she's been thought a lot of sh*t and has naturally matured. It could even be argued, that she aged quicker as a result of all the stuff she'd been through! A 26-27 year old playing a 23 or 24 year old character certainly isn't unheard of.
