In 1994 Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan created this Goliath Dodge Power Wagon as a monument to his favorite automobile.. Inside it contains a fully furnished 4 bedroom apartment with a bathroom, kitchen, and living room.. The best part about this massive vehicle is that it actually drives!!

Looks like cult headquarters from the 80s.

That is definitely an aesthetic I get!... my wife said the interior shots really creeped her out lol!

Especially Heaven's Gate, culminating with their mass suicide in the late 1990s. I remember the media being able to tour it and air videotape foot they took during the tour. Every bedroom was packed with as many military surplus bunk bed sets as each could fit, all on industrial carpeting in neutral colors.
Total_Feedback1676@reddit
is there a photo of the drivers seat anywhere?
cinesota@reddit
Spends a fortune building the thing then furnishes it with literally the ugliest, cheapest looking furniture known to man.
bmk37@reddit
It ain’t good if it doesn’t look like a 1980’s Econolodge
80degreeswest@reddit
Lots of people had furniture that looked like that in 1994, just 30 years later it looks pretty ugly
Queerbunny@reddit
Ya looks like where I’ve eaten many a church luncheon lol

He definitely covered any possible ‘bathroom use’ preference anyone could have, though…
Western toilet, squat toilet AND a bidet!

Yeah that was what stood out to me too.

Starchaser_WoF@reddit
So where does the driver go?
Poagie_Mahoney@reddit
Look closely at the first photo. There's a window behind the grill, on the same side as the license plate. It looks like there's some sort of tinting with the windows, but in a light grey rather than a dark black—compare to the windows for the main bedroom where the upper cab is, how they're also greyed-out.
CabinInWoofs@reddit
I saw it in person at the museum and it's so massive. I'm shorter than the wheel's height. But unfortunately they don't let you go up to the rooms

This 1996 segment from Jeremy Clarkson's Motorworld S2E6 showcases the truck.. It's a great video and has a killer soundtrack...definitely worth the watch:

Wow, I really love the lifted Mercedes with monster tires - straight out of Fury Road, that one.
HurryOk5256@reddit
I have never been as pleasantly surprised with the soundtrack of a YouTube clip as I was with this. When they’re going over the power wagon, and welcome to the machine kicks in it’s just perfection. 🙏 I forgot just how great music can make you feel, to caught up with other nonsense.
jefftatro1@reddit
Inconceivable wealth. When someone gets named "richest man in the world" these people smile and say "good for you, splendid achievement".
PetraFriedChicken@reddit
Typical truck driver energy
andersaur@reddit
Between the Jeeeeeeep, this thing, and generally tacky taste in all things absurd-expensive, there’s an honesty in this exclusive niche culture. I don’t get it, I’m not invited anyway, but I sure do see it. It’s like handing a small kid $50k at LegoLand and they have one hour to spend it all. Feels kinda like that, just with oil money up to the gills.
TERRAVEX_357@reddit
Okay, holy shit, I never thought this day would come that that one timy tidbit of information in my brain would be useful. Those tires are the exact same tires used on Kenworth 963 ultra heavy duty oilfield trucks. Look them up if you don't know about them. Those trucks are my favourite and I got way too excited when they were added to snowrunner, one of my favourite games.
thekrebscycle@reddit
No way. They're definitely something from heavy machinery but that Kenworth isn't that big. The tires on this thing are like 8 feet
TERRAVEX_357@reddit
Yeah, upon further research online, I found out they're from moving land oil rigs. I edited my comment and also put a video with one of those oil rigs.
thekrebscycle@reddit
No worries, that's a sweet video, thanks for posting it!
Your_Spirit_Animals@reddit
They could be a custom tire from one of companies that make monster truck tires.
Big-man-kage@reddit
I literally just commented and asked if those were the same tires and didn’t look far enough down in the comments to see your comment haha
TERRAVEX_357@reddit
Yeah, but the ting is, they're not from the 963. The 963 ones are like half the size. These are from mobile land oil rigs. I put a video and pic in my comment, but I originally thought the same thing. Compared to these tyres, the 963 looks tiny lol.
dirtiestUniform@reddit
I was looking and wondering what tires are actually that huge, I glad you knew this so I didn't have to spend any time looking it up, Thanks!
TERRAVEX_357@reddit
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I made a major mistake. They're not from the Kenworth 963, rather from a moving land oil rig. I'll admit that I didn't even know they existed until now. I have edited my comment and put a video of one there and the tire size matches up. Since the oil rig in the video is newer, the tread pattern doesn't match sadly.
TERRAVEX_357@reddit
Glad I could help lmao.
adam1260@reddit
Same tread pattern but nowhere near as big as the ones on this power wagon
TERRAVEX_357@reddit
Yep, moving oil rig wheels. Researched further online and found an article stating that and, comparing them to images I've seen online and the video I attached to the edit of my comment, they're definitely from moving land oil rigs. Thanks for the heads up, for some reason I misremembered the size of the Kenworth tires.
Big-man-kage@reddit
Are those the tires from those massive oilfield trucks?? For example: a Kenworth 963

Incredible to think dude had all the interior furnished and probably used it once or twice, or maybe never. I doubt anyone’s ever slept in those smaller beds or used the kitchen at all.
Truly a « for the man who already has everything » moment.
Also, didn’t some dude from the region do the exact same with a Hummer H1 ?
The_Nabisco_Thing@reddit (OP)
He's the same guy that did the Hummer!
ashzeppelin98@reddit
He made an equally humongous Hummer H1 as well.

Whole-Debate-9547@reddit
That is beyond cool. He murdered the interior with some terribly cheesy color schemes but I imagine with his kinda money it wouldn’t be too much to update it to a more modern style. I can’t imagine the amount of time and fabrication it took to create this behemoth.
