After the RTX 5000 prices now being public, should I upgrade to a RTX 3060 or RTX 4070?

Hi! I'm from Peru and right now I have a PC which has a Ryzen 5 5700G + 32 DDR4 (2x16) + Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB and I have been saving up to upgrade to a RTX 3060 RTX, which it costs around 400$ new here right now.
Yesterday I got the news about the new RTX 5000 launch date at the end of the month and I was wondering if I should keep planning on getting the RTX 3060 or, as I read in other websites and heard in a lot of youtube videos, wait for the "price to come down" in a superior model (I'm thinking about the RTX 4070 12Gb for example, which is like 680\~900$ here now, depending on the version-normal, super, Ti, or Super Ti).
I use my PC for gaming (mostly single player games), 3d photogrammetry and modeling, so I need more VRAM.
So, should I wait (I suppose more or less a month) or just give up and get the RTX 3060?

Hey, are you ok with buying used hardware? If that's the case, go for a used 2080 TI. It's stronger than the 3060, actually comparable to a 3070, and has 11Gb of VRAM. You can find them for $200 easily.
The prices will definitely see a dump after the new release end of January.

they use more power tho and minus we’ll get a amd card

The 2080 Ti is an nvidia card tho. Sure they draw more power but you get more performance too

Nah I already own a 2070 super. Just dropping it off from my old rig into the new one. Doesn’t make sense for me to buy something with a marginal increase when I plan on something much newer in a few months. Thanks for the heads up tho. I also have trust issues when it comes to used electronics from past experiences.

Got you
