As a dad, the ever-present word snatcher just get funnier and funnier each time I read this book to my kids.

I was obsessed with this book, still have it, and occasionally reread it… my kids don’t want to read it though, very sad. They did enjoy the movie (which is free on YouTube)!

Yes, it animated outside the real world beginning, and it’s great!

My husband and I used to take turns reading chapters of books aloud to each other. This was one of my first picks 😊 I have it to my eldest to read when he was in a Milo-ish stage when everything was boring and wherever he was, he wanted to be somewhere else. He didn't pick up on it, but he loved the book. I read it to my two youngest for a bedtime story to my 3 &5 year old. It's such a good book!

I got the audiobook and force-fed it to my kids on a cross country car ride!

Loved this book as a kid, and my kids and I enjoyed the sh** out of the audiobook. It’s narrated by Rainn Wilson!

We watched the movie in class in second grade and I mentioned I liked the book better. Teacher, who was older than Moses and I assumed knew everything, was not familiar with it. It dawned on me teachers did not, in fact, know everything. (I had to look it up after reading this and discovered said teacher was only 55 at the time. That was a HARD 55.)

i bet if you saw a picture of her from then, today, she wouldn't look nearly as old.

I looked her up in the year book. Combo of short permed hair and those glasses on a chain made her look much older. I don't think she smoked, but her husband did, and that probably didn't help either.

That’s a really good book and I loved it as a kid. In fact I’m pretty sure I also read it in 5th grade.

I have the floor! “There once was a boy named Milo, who didn’t know what to do with himself. Not just sometimes, but always.”

When he was home, he wanted to be in school, and when he was in school, he wanted to be home. This was my life in eighth grade.

That is because it is the best book ever written. I say this as an English Major and Librarian.

I loved this book as a child, but I can’t get my children to read.

This sadly is the story of all my beloved childhood books :( Many of the were old at the time I read them but they’re true classics for a reason. I have read a few of them to my kids and realized how very weird they are such as Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.

I was (am) obsessed with this book since I was given a copy in 3rd grade. It's the reason I have loved reading my whole life.

I had this book also as a kid. My mom gave it to me and had me watch the movie later on. I really enjoyed it a lot.

I freaking love this book. I always burst out laughing at the subtraction stew scene. “If you have nothing and take less than something from it, what do you have?” “FAMINE!!!” The Humbug was a great character.

I was obsessed with this book. It’s why I think dodecahedrons are cool.

Third grade for me—it’s probably largely to blame for my mostly pun- and wordplay-based sense of humor!

I love the movie and the book is even better. Have reread it several times as an adult. I wish I could get my 12 yo to read it but he isn’t interested.

My mother got it for me to read when I kept whinging about being bored. I found it so fascinating I drew my own map of the land and imagined a sequel.
