Ok the "yoyo assembly" topic triggered my memory of this assembly and now I have to know if this thing was real or if I imagined it. Did anyone else have the Total Eclipse of the Heart anti-drug interpretive dance assembly in school? What do you remember? Am *I* on drugs?

I remember being IN one of those performances. High schoolers put it on for younger kids.

Ohhhh yeah. Remember it well! I wonder if it was regional; where did you grow up? I got to experience this anti-drug spectacle in MI.

I 100% remember that, they literally bussed 7th & 8th graders to the high school to watch a DARE-sponsored interpretive dance/play set to it in the early 90s, replete with the ‘abuser’ being turned away from the ‘family’ as they reach towards her, then the opposite as she reached towards them, set to the appropriate section (i.e. ‘turn arooooound’ section) of the music! Talk about a core memory unlocking… I thought I was mad as well! Well, jury’s still out on that but regardless, you aren’t alone friend! 🤣👍
