Dell G2724D vs G2725D

I need two new Monitors, for Home Office and gaming. I lately bought the Dell G2725D because Its cheap and new. Got 180hz, QHD, 27 inch, Not curved. Its fine i guess, Not stunning however.
However i saw Like dozend Posts that argued that the G2724D is wayyy better. And Looks Like the G2724D is also a Bit cheaper now. However i never Had that Monitor so i can Not compare them.
Is the G2724D really the better Pick? Why?

Me personally, I bought the G2725D for a crazy 100$ off retail brand new, and it performs amazing. I already had a vivo arm which i got off like 40$ so the stand wasn't a problem for me anyway. Overall, the G2725D would most likely give u a better time as long as the stand isnt a big deal to u. Colour settings and refresh rate are amazing and has better specs besides freesync.

I’ll chime in. I own the S2716D and the G2724D, I switch between both for gaming. The G2724D is denser. The image looks more clear, and a lot of people argue that it’s basically a huge step up above the S2716D.
I’ve seen the G2725D in person a few times. It’s an awesome display in my eyes, though it’s only a hair above the G2724D, and like a lot say, it’s locked and not adjustable. I will say that from my point of view last time I seen one in person, color is basically the same but properly calibrated the G2724D is a better looking display along with the extra features.
For your money, the G2724D is a better display, there’s also some moddable settings you can find for it off you have an NVIDIA card. I’d go here.

Density should be the same for S2716D and G2724D. But you should see huge difference between TN and IPS panel - viewing angles, colors...

Yeah any other good 27 inch 1440p monitors you would recommend to check out vs the Dell?
Ted225@reddit
It really depends on what you need. G2724D is great entry level 27" QHD monitor with decent refresh rate and height adjustment. But it doesn't have Mini LED backlighting, so blacks aren't great.
If you need deeper blacks it at least +$100 to a price.
IPS is nice and way better than cheaper TN panels. But OLEDs are better. Price is like $600.
Very good recent review: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/by-resolution/1440p-quad-hd-qhd
Do you need more framerate (like 360Hz - make sure your GPU can handle it), USB hub, better colors, uniformity, deep blacks etc...
For me G2724D for $149.99 is good enough. Too bad I already have 7 monitors. YMMV.

Yeah I have a 3080ti and just game at 144 hz is fine I don’t play competitive. I have mini led 98 inch tv and 77 inch oled at home I love the mini led and oled but don’t care to have it on the monitor as I don’t game to much anymore. But I would like to upgrade from my current ones now. Thanks for the reply and advice!

I have 2 Dell S2716DG I have had for around 6 years or so. I want to upgrade to an IPS panel. I have been looking at the G2724D if i should upgrade my monitors. I use a monitor arm and im OCD so would like to replace both so one dont look different than the other haha. is it a worthy upgrade from the S2716DG? should i be looking at something else? would the G2725 be better since i already have an adjustable arm
Ted225@reddit
Difference between TN and IPS is huge in viewing angles and colors. But is it huge for you? Check it side-by-side in nearest shop.

Yeah we don’t have any shops near me besides Best Buy and they never have crap out. I don’t think I’m going to do it though at 150 it’s hard to beat I paid more for the s2716 I have now.

Good timing because I started using a Dell U2424 for BO6 on PS5 and want to upgrade to one of the two models you mentioned.
They’re both currently ~$150 so contemplating which would work best for my usage. 🤓

The 24 has a height adjustable stand, the 25 does not.
The 24 has “support” for HDR, but not in any tangible or useful way. 25 excludes this faux support entirely.
24 is 165hz vs 25’s 180hz.
They have different looking stands, menu interface, and inputs.
The G2724D is probably a slightly better monitor at the $150 price point, almost entirely because it has a height adjustable stand which is rare for <$200. This makes sense because it was originally a $250 monitor. But if that’s not something you care about, the G2724D isn't going to wow you compared to the G2725D. The new model just appears to have actually been built for the $150 price point it’s being sold for. But the panel itself is likely better in the G2725D. Hard to know since the 25 hasn’t gotten any real in depth reviews yet.

How can ANY monitor from 2024 not have adjustable stand? What the fuck??
BaronB@reddit
Most monitors below $150 don't, and certainly none below $100.

Alright thanks! In that Case i will probably stay with the G2725D since i already have it Here. Even tho i Love HDR, but it Looks Like the HDR Part of the 24 is Just Bad

Does the G2725D have adjustable colour temperature in sRGB mode?
