First the Portal, then the Airflow, now the Halcyon. Either this never reaches production or it just ends up being the Chrysler version of the new Charger four years later than it should have been. The clay model of the production car already looks nothing like the concept and looks a hell of a lot like the square body of the Charger

Isn't the Portal just the concept version of the Pacifica?
View on Reddit #45924681

DelanoJ@reddit

No. The production Pacifica debuted almost a full year earlier than the Portal concept did.

Oh yea, you're right. They just look weirdly identical in certain places.

> Chrysler CEO Chris Feuell said the brand isn’t going anywhere. Hope so because this brand does reserve to stay, as their European families can’t succeed to sell their cars in America. It would be best if they can also ask their French family for the models. Some DS and Peugeot models are amazing and American buyers really wanting.

I'm surprised they haven't tried that yet. Like, I'm not saying that it'll work or that they're great (I really don't know much of those models), but I can't imagine it'll be worse than the model/parts sharing they've done with Fiat and Alfa Romeo. Like guys, the Renegade and Hornet show that it is not working. It. is. not. working. I'm sure it's some logistics/price issue, but it's amazing that they leave half of Stellantis out of US operations. Like, since they're not putting money into ground-up products, isn't sharing like that some of the point of being a huge conglomerate?

Honestly a rebadging I feel like would work well for some of their models as long as they carry over some design cues from the current Dodge/Chrysler lineup. Kinda like what Pontiac and Oldsmobile did with the grand am and alero. Same cars but looked completely different.

Wow, only 80%. Not bad

Seriously, it's amazing that this was once the brand of K-Car and MotorTrend's 2001 Car of the Year: PT Cruiser. Like, I'm not saying either was good, but the way that the brand has shrunk to just the Pacifica and Voyager(Pacifica-lite) is astounding. They say more models are coming, but given the luck Stellantis has been having with a lot of their new models (Hornet & 500e), I won't hold my breath hoping they amount to much.

>Speaking to [CNBC](https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/06/chrysler-revamp-declining-brand.html), Feuell said the company found a new audience with the Halcyon concept and stated some of the design elements seen on the car will carryover to production models. She went on to say we can expect a very modern and sleek styling language that isn’t overly complicated. >While the concept was largely a flight of fantasy, Feuell said they’re working on bringing a “real industrialized” version of the car to market. She added it will be affordable, although the price tag and timing is anyone’s guess. I don't have much faith that this will be the same kind of affordable that we are thinking. Most likely affordable in the same way the Charger EV is affordable at $70k+.

Well, it wouldn't be the first Chrysler rebirth based mostly on style. Affortable stylish cars is what kept them alive for 30 years.

So, should Chrysler bring back Plymouth ? IIRC, Plymouth was same price range with Dodge.

It's got doors. All they gotta do is make it a 4-cylinder hybrid. Poof. Easy money. Chrysler is back and "futuristic".

Except there is no indication whether Feuell is abandoning making Chrysler an EV-only brand.

I mean, it should obvious to any American brand that going 100% EV right now is probably not a great idea unless you intend to be like Rivian or, uh, Fisker? Tesla is doing fine, but you can't replicate them without a huge investment. Hybrids are the way to go right now. Or at least don't make the brand 100% EV.

I mean again there hasn’t been any announcement on plan changes as of yet. I agree they should rethink their strategy but so far it doesn’t seem like it.

Stellantis prices are coming back down, so theres some hope at least. Grand Wagoner 4x4 down $7k over last year

I think that's because the dealerships were not selling them for MSRP to begin with. You can get a Series III Grand Wagoneer for $30k off MSRP brand new.

They should also do a crossover version of this ASAP and launch it right after the sadan.
