After looking at prices I think abroad is off the table. So I think we are going to go with Butlins for the summer. Butlins is expensive but you get a lot of bang for your buck!

For an all-inclusive resort? Unlikely. DIY flights and hotels are the thing to do for city breaks. For hotel-based stays, or complicated/long-haul itineraries, you are almost always better off choosing a package deal or going to a travel agent.

Yeah I’ve never managed to get it any cheaper, usually more expensive. I like to think I’m fairly savvy at doing my research too. Adding bags to a flight costs so much these days and package holidays tend to include it in the price.

If it's just flights and a bed, I think it's cheaper to DIY. But if you want all inclusive or any extras like transfers, then you save money with a package deal.

I went Albania last year with the GF. We rented a car and drove from the north which is a mountainous region full of the most beautiful hikes I've ever been on, to south Albania which is full of amazing beaches and is more like a Spain holiday. Was great to do loads of hiking and then go chill out in the 2nd half of the holiday on the beach. Best place I've ever been, the only cons were the crazy drivers (it's not that bad though, you get used to it fairly quickly) and bad food in the north (south had amazing food, a mix of Greek and Italian).

Booked a week in Feb in Gran Canaria, all inc, watermark next door (entry part of holiday), package deal from On the Beach. They did give me the option of getting a voucher to book the flight or them doing it. The whole point of going through them was for them to do it all, but it's apparently a popular option.

It's a great time to book a holiday! We booked in November (for September) because the hotel we like to go to in Mallorca had a black friday sale on and we got a good discount. I think having a holiday to look forward to is lovely, especially during the dark winter months.

Skyscanner is great for booking flights. Hotels I find is more personal preference but I usually look at hotels.com and then Google around to see if anything more appealing can be found before making the booking.

Full board is almost the same as all inclusive, minus alcohol, so depending on what you're looking for, this can be a good option as its cheaper. You can still choose to go out to eat, but if you don't want to then you can just stay at your hotel and not stress about it. Half board is breakfast and dinner, which again can be a decent option if you don't tend to care about lunch or want to spend the day at the beach and not waste money on lunch you're not eating at the hotel. Self catering can sometimes work out if you are okay to leave the hotel for all of your meals and/or cook. You need to make sure there are local options for restaurants and a mini mart or somewhere to buy food. Otherwise you'll find this is a terrible idea once there. Look the hotel up on a map before booking.

I usually don't book too far in advance unless it's a big trip that needs a lot of planning and money. I am not fully decided on my big trips of 2025 yet but for the first quarter I'm saving money to reach my 20k allowance for the year before April, then will start with some last minute euro breaks on bank holiday weekends.

Sign up to jet2 which is free and then login and you get up to £400 off a family holiday. They also do free child places. Take a look at Rixos premium in Belek Turkey If you’re wanting Spain then I’d recommend any of the Zarifo hotels. Alfagar Alto Da Colina maybe in Albufeira, Portugal.

I can’t really afford to book anything right now. Thanks to promotions, competitions and my credit card, I have enough air miles that I will only have to pay taxes on flights, but as the UK has pretty much the highest surcharges of anywhere, it will still cost me a pretty penny. I was contemplating doing a bit of a theme park holiday. I was going to start with Canada’s Wonderland in Toronto as I never got the chance to go last time I was there. Then it would be a quick hop over the lake to Cleveland to catch a Browns game and do a day at Cedar Point in Sandusky. Lastly it would be a flight to Orlando to go visit to newly opened Universal Epic Universe park. If I fly economy, stay in cheap hotels and don’t splurge, I reckon I can pull off the trip for under £1200 (before spending money). This all relies on my bonus and a potential promotion coming up, so we’ll see if it becomes a reality.
