How do I turn off my maintenance required light?

I have a 2010 Toyota Rav4, and got an oil change about a month ago. The maintenance required light was on before getting the oil changed, but has not turned off on it's own. I have searched how to turn it off manually, but that won't work either.

Have you tried putting tape over the light?/s

It's the same for most Toyotas really. Turn the key to on (but don't start the engine) and press the trip/odometer button until you display trip A, turn the key off. Press and hold the trip/odo button while you turn the key on. You should see a bunch of dashes go across the screen, then a bunch of 0's flashing. When it's done, your light should go off and you can release the trip/odo button.
If that doesn't work try trip B, and/or the odometer reading itself. One of those will do it.

It's not trip A. It's the general Odo meter.

Old thread but I just did this on my girlfriend's 09 RAV4, trip A was the only way this worked.

Only worked on Trip A in my rav4.

It worked on general odometer in my 2004 Highlander. Maybe itโs an older model thing.
