To SUV drivers - does the extra environmental impact of driving an SUV bother you at all? And do you really need an SUV? Or regret getting one?

Firstly, im not having a go at SUV drivers and im no environmental activist.
This question exists in my head because theres some SUV's i really like but i dont **need** the extra space i would just like it. Because of this i ask myself if i want to be another SUV driver adding to climate change and dangerous roads when i dont actually need one or just get a smaller car which gets me from A to B just the same.
For context:
"SUVs would be the world's sixth largest carbon emitter if they were a country"
"non-electric SUVs produce 25 per cent more carbon emissions on average than a medium-sized car"
"SUVs are less fuel efficient requiring more refuelling than a standard car"
