Hello I am looking for an affordable and reliable moving company that doesn’t have hidden fees. I will be relocating from Indiana to Dallas. Also would like them to transport my car. May 2025.

The best moving company in Dallas Texas is by far DallasAreaMovers.com.
We hired them to move my cousin who had a large amount of expensive and fragile furniture pieces and Dallas Area Movers were able to handle everything super easily. The owners are super nice and professional as well.
Important note:
Whatever you do, just don’t use U-Haul. They’re a nightmare.

Olde World Movers was fantastic when we moved (it was a short move though). It was the least stressful part about buy and moving into our house. I truly never thought I would say that about movers.

I used Dependable Auto Shippers to move a couple vehicles (MS to CA, and CA to TX) and they were GREAT. They got my car to me in Texas several days early, and communication was excellent, so it was a pretty stress-free situation.

You gotta be a bit careful with long distance moves. Some companies outsource to a local company or franchise to get stuff in a truck and then crate your stuff. Ive had friends wait several weeks past the delivery estimate due to random delays and excuses. Whoever you go with ask how your stuff is going from point A to B, how long it will take, and when it will get delivered to your new residence.
My brother in law shipped a car. Estimate was for two days to go from Cincy to Dallas, it took a week and a half and that was after threatening to go to the police and report the car as stolen. At one point they couldn’t find their driver to update on where he was.

Yes, those are the type of stories I’ve been hearing I want to try to avoid that.

I understand why you want to pay movers. If you’re open to a suggestion you can rent and drive the truck but pay someone to load it. I’ve found for long distance moves it’s an OK middle ground. I know where my stuff is but the heavy lifting and packing is still handled. Driving the truck sucks for sure.

It’s not so much the loading part it’s the driving. We were going to rent a U-Haul and haul or suv but we have 3 kids under 6 traveling with us as well. We also considered my husband driving the U-Haul and me trailing him in our car but I wouldn’t be able to drive.

We used AP Moving, who was recommended by 3 friends, and they were great. They can provide an hourly or flat rate quote.
