How legit is Viagogo?

I've just bought my dad tickets for ELO at Hyde Park next year over double face value (yes fucking over £600 for 2x standard standing tickets!!!! tgfk) It says I'll get the tickets the week of. I'm aware I've paid well over the odds. I'm fine with what I've paid, the only thing I'm worried about is that I won't get the tickets - either they won't send them, or they'll be invalidated as resold tickets. Anyone able to provide advice or reassurance? I'm aware I'm a fucking mug, I'm not hear to be told that.

It's a roll of the dice. You might get legit tickets, you might not. If you don't, you might get a refund, you might not. Hopefully you used a credit card and not a debit card, as otherwise, you might be out of luck for a charge back.

The only evidence you should need for a credit card chargeback is your booking confirmation and your word the tickets werent receiced/were fake. If its disputed through Mastercard, it’s then up to the merchant to evidence otherwise and defend against the chargeback

For credit card yes. For debit card it's a little more complicated.

Chargeback is the same for debit or credit, you're talking about S75 cover which credit cards have which is an additional protection if a chargeback fails. S75 is complicated though as OP might not be able to use it if the tickets were not for them (say father and mother going). But less protections, and provider can just use proof of delivery of the tickets. Credit card provides more protection.

The only time I ever used Viagogo was to get my dad tickets to Ozzy Osbourne. He cancelled and I got an automated refund. I had been worrying that I wouldn’t actually get the tickets at all (bought tickets first then read reviews of viagogo 🤦‍♀️) so it was almost a relief as I too had definitely paid over the odds.

I did the same thing, brought tickets from them without much research. But it turned out fine, didn't have any problems at all , paid over the odds of course but it was worth it for me

Viagogo has been investigated and fined in numerous countries for deceptive ticket selling practices. If you don't get the tickets, they're fakes or unusable - you'll have a difficult time getting a refund from Viagogo. Good luck!
