Urgent help needed for PC build plan

Hi I've been building PCs since the 1980s so not a novice. However, I've found myself in the position where I need to order for a new PC build preferably today and I'm not up to date ... So current PC is Threadripper 2950x with 64GB ECC and a 2080ti. Used for nomad stuff, photo editing and some gaming. Primarily, and the most important usage is that I use a VM for my work PC which I use all day every day. I need speed and reliability. The PC has blue screened on updates for so long that the current Windows 11 isn't supported and I tried the nuclear option of a fresh install from USB. Now the PC is unusable. Tried everything. I need to order a new CPU and motherboard today. Hopefully using the RAM. What is going on with Intel at the moment? Is there an Intel option that I can safely use? Budget is quite high. Help most appreciated...

The sort of parts you're looking for are gonna take a while to ship, so i get the urgency, but with pirchases like these, take your time. When it comes to amd options, everything current gen is good When it comes to intel, do not buy used 13 and 14th gen cpus, they've likely been affected by the issues that have been causing those generations of intel chips to degrade irreparably, and if you buy new, make sure to update your mainboards bios immediately to update the cpus microcode and avoid damaging the cpu

I'm looking at new. Maybe Intel ultra 5. Not ideal, but looking at parts that will ship for delivery tomorrow so I'm back in action on Monday!

You can probably solve that problem without buying anything if that's the reason why you are looking for parts. By trying everything, what do you mean?

Bios reset, unplugged everything that can be unplugged, fresh install from USB. To be honest, it's probably due a refresh. The build hasn't been the most reliable. It would have helped if I could have unplugged the 2080 but there's no onboard graphics. At this stage, I'd be happier just getting new. And I now haven't got the time to fault find.

You can go for the new Intel Core ultra CPUs, for gaming they are not better than the previous generation. For other tasks I don't know. But they are pretty efficient and high core count.
