Can't progress without an offer

I've been migrating from SA into a more mamager role lately. Managing vendor contracts, dealing with moves across location, planning huge board-approved projects, involved in senior staff meetings, approving time cards. I've expressed I'm doing a lot for 75k, but the only advice I can get is "[company] doesn't care unless it's a priority" and by priority they mean an offer. I love my team and want to be there for them, but I need to make more money to survive and idk what to do anymore.

I am assuming you have spoken to your current manager and they have provided goals and development steps for you to acheve that you have listed in your post and shared your goals with your manager as well. If not you should do so. Look up what and Individual Development Plan (IDP) is. If you have and they are not getting you anywhere then sometimes you gotta play chicken. The problem with this is you need to be prepared they call your bluff and let you go so takenyour time and find an opportunity work jumping to. Not every manager knows how to respond to these things and some get downright irate. If they are decent they will do what they can to keep you, but you may find exactly what you want elsewhere with better aupport.

Yep. Know your worth. At 75k in the Midwest maybe you're alright just starting into a mgt role on the service desk, but in NYC that's barely rent $ unless you have several roommates or other income.

Take their advice and get an offer. If they're willing to match an offer of $X/year, then you were already worth $X to the company. They just avoided paying that much because they could. So, you can assume that any time your value goes up, you'll have to interview for a new job until you get an offer. Otherwise, you'll never be paid what you're worth. Fuck that. All employers recognize skill, productivity, and value. The good ones will retain their best staff proactively. I already hate your management, and I don't even know them.

Not sure what the issue is here... Apply for new jobs that you want, while working your position for the amount you are paid; nothing more, nothing less.

What they are telling you is they do not see value in paying you more for what you are doing and if you want more you need to go elsewhere to make more. My recommendation is to take their guidance and go elsewhere, never stay where you are not valued. As by doing so with inflation your buying power decreases year after year if you are not being paid above inflation.

As opposed to a policy, ideal, or paradigm, where they were proactive and prevented most emergencies from happening in the first place. Some people like to manage from emergency to emergency. If they think they're good at it, some of them claim it's exciting.
