Is “ok” enthusiastic consent or grudging consent?

Say someone was having trouble doing something, you offered to do it for them and they said “ok” is that “not really but here you go” or is it “yes please”, or is it unknowable?

If I offer to do someone a favour and instead of "yes please/thanks" they go "OK" then I'm probably rescinding the offer.

I'd put 'ok' and 'yeah sure' in the not definite pile . Depending on tone, it could be 'im pissed off you're pushing me to let you do it' 'I'm pissed off at this thing, I'll give up and let you have a go' or 'genuinely, yeah, please have a go'.

Yes means yes. If you're offering to help and someone accepts, you're not crossing a moral event horizon if they choose to be petulant or ungrateful about it. That's on them.
