Can I use a 2.5G lan to M.2 E key adapter in a CNVio slot?

I want to add more storage, but the only available slot is an E key M.2.
The manual says: M.2 Socket (Key E), supports type 2230 IntelĀ® CNVio (Integrated WiFi/BT)
So I guess, a SSD via an E key to M key adapter wouldn't be supported. But I have a 2.5G PCIE nic in my system. If I replace it with a SSD, can I use the CNVio slot to get 2.5G lan?

Do you have PCIe slots available? PCIe m.2 cards would be a more sensible solution that fiddling around with possibly incompatible slots not to mention that those e-slots usually don't have mounts for regular 2280 drives.

Thanks for your answer.
Yes, I have one PCIe slot(ITX board). To clarify: It's currently used by the 2.5G nic. I want to take this nic out and put a SSD in it's place. But doing that, I would lose 2.5G lan connectivity. That's why I asked if I can use the M.2 CNVio slot for 2.5G lan instead.

Maybe something like this? I think as long as it's the right key the slot is agnostic but I'm not 100% sure.

This is what I mean. I was wondering because it doesn't say PCIe but CNVio in the manual. So I don't know if it's compatible.

"CNVi requires chipset and Intel CPU support. Otherwise the Wi-Fi + Bluetooth module has to be the traditional M.2 PCIe form factor."
Seems to be suggesting that you could theoretically use non CNVi m.2 cards as long as they're m.2 PCIe which I believe that m.2 to Ethernet is. Maybe take a gamble with a site with a good return policy otherwise you will have to decide if you want more storage or faster ethernet.

I think I will try it. Thank you for your help.
