What folding bed would you recommend?

Hey! Looking for a folding bed recommendation and also opinions on what to avoid/look for.
Main use case: Mother in law is visiting for two months. So, it needs to be comfortable. We will also use it for the occasional guest. We don't need to necessarily put it away every day, so whilst it needs to be foldable, it's okay if it's not lightning quick.
https://www.jaybe.com/ seems like the most popular supplier. But, they have so many options for the frame and mattress, I'm not sure what to prefer.
For the base, I think a slatted wooden base might be firmer than a canvas type. I saw one review where a user said the canvas type feels like a hammock.
Budget - £300.

You are right that slats are usually better than canvas or foam. Other decision is what size - small doubles are great if it’s usually one person but not if you often have two guests.
I bought an IKEA Lycksele bed which converts into a sofa but has been reasonably comfortable for 2. I looked at various daybeds but was severely space constrained.
If the room that it’s going into is warm, then the inflatable beds that have a ‘base’ height have the benefit of packing away easier when not needed. But if the room really cools down overnight, they can be chilly to sleep on and need topped up frequently.

Do you still sleep on it?
I'm thinking of buying a single size one for my room which is really small, fold it during the day to have space and fold it at night to sleep.
Btw, is it Lycksele Lövâs or Lycksele Murbo?

It’s in my guest room so only gets used occasionally. No complaints though and it’s been fine when I’ve slept on it for a night or two when decorating etc.
Checking the mattress it was a Havet which doesn’t seem to be an option now. It was the dearer of the available ones at the time.

I see, thanks for your response.
I'm looking for something for regular use, I did sleep on a sofa bed for a year so I doubt this is too different from it.

I’m just getting a single. The living room is too small for anything bigger.
damapplespider@reddit
They do a single version of it but only really useful if you have room for a spare chair the rest of the time.

This is the best folding bed I can find https://foldingbed.net/Item/The-Ritz-Rollaway-Bed

I sell the Jaybe stuff and the best one to go for is the J-Bed. The mechanism is so much easier to use and it's stronger for adults. The problem with any of these folding beds is that they are low to the ground so hopefully your MIL is very mobile. If she has knee or leg problems she might not be able to stand up from it.
The J-Bed will be a bit over your budget, but even the cheapest version with the efibre mattress is comfy.

Thanks for the recommendation. Can these beds be used as a permanent bed for sleeping daily, or would you only recommend them for temporary use?
McLeod3577@reddit
The J-Bed is strong enough for regular use. The standard mattress is OK, but you can pay more for thicker ones/memory foam etc.. Also, the small double size would be easier to sleep in. Unless you need the extra space, a normal bed will be more comfy.

Thanks

So, the efibre one is £305- https://amzn.to/403A3VH

Yeah - that's the one I've had in my shop sometimes and I can't sell it that cheap - I'd go for that one.

Yeah she’s healthy. I just didn’t want to cause any new problems with the bed. 😅 Will look into J-Bed

I slept on an army style campbed for a month and it was surprisingly comfortable, although I do prefer a firm bed. This style: https://www.robertdyas.co.uk/milestone-camping-folding-camp-bed-with-carry-bag-green
A topper is essential because there's zero breathability in the canvas but honestly I would recommend using a thick topper for any kind of fold out bed anyway

If my mother in law was visiting for 2 months she could have my bed as I would move out.

I used to use one of the jaybe beds when i was on call. I'd just roll it out into the living room and sleep there to avoid the risk of waking my wife.
The model names all seem to have changed now but it was a single one with slats and some sort of foam mattress. It was a medium thickness one I think - at least it wasn't super thin. and I slept on for 1 week a month for multiple years. I always seemed to sleep fine on it.
