Do the White T Shirts from Primark always shrink in the wash?

I really like Primark's Cotton white t shirts. The only issue is that they can be kinda inconsistent between different stores and times, like sometimes I'll buy one and it'll be a cotton stretch slim fit (Medium) and it will be perfect. That's my favourite one at the moment, literally just perfect. But then I will wear an older T Shirt of mine, also from Primark, and it will be a 'Large' but it will be smaller and much more uncomfortable than the fresh medium T Shirt. Is this the fact that Primark T shirts become shit over time after a few washes, or is it just that I was maybe buying the wrong type of T Shirt before?

I have this issue with Primark. I buy Mediums and after one wash it's already tight. I was on 30, and with a 800 spin, and dry with a dehumidifier (in the winter) because I am paranoid of ruining my shirts... And it still shrinks!!

Always buy these sizes larger in preparation for the true children's size to become apparent.

Primark is not very consistent in general. It's fast fashion, they have multiple suppliers and don't have very high quality assurance standards. I've had things fit differently even when I'm buying 2 of the same thing in the same size at the same time. The other bit is as most people mentioned is how you take care of it. Even though it's called cotton, usually it's not 100% cotton. So it's worth checking the label to see if you're comparing the materials like to like. Primark clothes you should generally wash on cold or low temperature like 30c. And avoid tumble drying. Heat will often make them shrink and degrade over time.

Yes. I'm 6'4" and every t-shirt I've ever had from Primark has become a crop top after a single wash. I wash cool and don't use a tumble dryer so it's nothing to do with heat. They're just utterly shit.

Do not put any clothes from primarni in the tumble dryer even if it says it’s ok to do so.

I do all the time on a delicate or synthetic cycle and they're always alright. I have a heat pump dryer though which may make the difference, they're supposed to be less harsh on clothes.

Wash them cold and don’t tumble dry, that being said.. cheaper t shirts generally don’t do well with any kind of multiple washings. I have very few t shirts, even m&s ones that stay looking good with the same fitting. Outliers being t shirts from Uniqlo, CK and some older Tesco F&F brand ones that are still going strong

I've found their t-shirts aren't always the same, even if it's supposedly the same range. They obviously have different suppliers which I guess is a way of keeping costs down. I bought some black t-shirts to use as PJ tops, they are excellent - quite thick, don't stretch out of shape, nice fit. Bought a few white ones a couple of months to wear every day under jumpers, expecting them to be the same quality but they were awful and quickly got relegated to the PJ drawer.

I've been wearing £3.50 Primark t-shirts for over 10 years. I wash them at 30 degrees and, to date, none of them have shrunk. After about 6-9 months the neck starts to go a bit funny, but that's about it.

It is (almost) impossible for a big company to source from just one factory or supplier, so you are going to get variations over time, and even from one batch to another. Wash stuff that might shrink on as cold a wash as possible, and be extra careful when drying...

I haven't got any of their white ones but haven't had any issues with other colours. What temperature are you washing them in and are you using a dryer?

Are you following the washing instructions on the label? They might have changed the material composition over the years without you realising.
