Ryzen 7 5700x3D vs 5800x3d?

Hello. Advice needed. I build my 1st PC ~4 years ago & now I’m considering on upgrading my CPU. Currently using AMD Ryzen 7 3700x. RAM: 32gb , GPU: 3070Ti
Recently my PC is having an issue (kept shutting down ? due to overheating) I sent to a shop they it only came back to normal after 1 week then it happen again, unsure the cause they suggest for me to change my CPU.
Thinking of upgrading to the Ryzen 5800x3d However I noticed that the stock availability in my country (Malaysia) is very scarce & a bit pricey.
So should I consider getting the 5700x3d instead of the 5800x3d or is better for me to spent “abit” extra for the 5800x3d?
For more details the pricing I found in My country is as below. 5700x3d ~ RM 800(USD 180) 5800x3d ~RM1.7k-2k (USD 400-450)

Get the 5700X3D the difference is barely noticable and there is no way the 5800X3D is near the same price, I live in a 3rd world country and the 5700X3D is 170$USD while the 5800X3D is around 600$USD

Same here in Thailand.

You really should check the temps yourself. If the temps are fine I'd be looking at the PSU instead of the CPU.

5700x3d uses less power, easier to cool and usually way cheaper than 5800x3d for 5-10% performance loss.

The 5800X3D is not worth that huge price difference.
I think AMD stopped producing it and only makes the 5700X3D now, that's why the pricing on the 5800 is weird.

How do you know your PC is shutting down due to CPU overheating? Have you checked your CPU temperature via HWINFO?

Incredibly ironic when the chip is made in Malaysia.

Can't say whether it will help your issue, but as far as price to performance there's almost no reason to ever consider the 5800X3D anymore. The 5700X3D is so close in performance that I'd only consider the 5800X3D if it was, based on your quoted prices, less than RM880, and even that's a bit of a push, below 850 would be where it would really become comparable value on average. Over double is just nonsense.
I've observed that it often seems to happen that the 'best' CPU on a given platform seems to get a price boost once it becomes less widely available, and IIRC they've now discontinued it so it'll be increasingly hard to find. Not sure why someone would pay that sort of price vs going AM5 or just getting the 5700X3D, but I guess someone's doing it.

Fix the thermal issue. If you can't cool the 3700X you won't cool the 5700X3D or 5800X3D.
That's like going to the dentist with a lil inflammation in one tooth and getting full dentures.

I’m currently using the Be quiet 240mm AIO. There no issue with the AIO, tested the AIO on another PC. Even sent to a local PC shop they said no issue with the cooling. But the PC still keep shutting down, after that that they recommend me to change my CPU.

How are you installing the radiator? Top mount? Vertical mount with tubes up?

5700x3d is only a few percents slower than 5800x3d. Choose whichever with better price.

What are the CPU temperatures since you think the shutdowns are thermal related? If they’re fine, this could actually be a PSU or even a GPU issue (could be overheating).
Anyway, the 5700x3D is only around 2-3% slower on average compared to the 5800x3D, so it’s really not worth the price difference to go for the 5800 IMO

5700X3D

I suggest you find a different PC repair shop.

are you sure it's due to overheating? Install core temp and monitor the temperature. You can try doing a synthetic benchmark and see.
You have a decent aio but somehow your cpu is overheating. Because currently I'm running 5700X3D with an aio from a more budget oriented brand and I still can run 5700X3D no problem.
Try bringing it to a bigger pc shop for testing perhaps, somewhere in lowyat would be your best bet.

If you want improved performance get the 5700X3D. However, the underlying cause is still your CPU cooler and need for repaste, not the CPU itself.
5700X3D is only 5-10% slower. The reason the 5800X3D is so expensive is because it's not longer made.

5700X3D is easy to find $120-140 USD
5800X3D probably only exists in the secondhand market and is only a little faster
Your computer shutting down might not be CPU related though
