ECAM ACTIONS CRM

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the ecam actions, because today in a flight simulator, I was going as PF, but I transferred the controls just at the moment that an engine failure detonated, I literally said, you have the controls, and it exploded.
What I did as a consequence was, I HAVE CONTROLS, but, my partner did not know what to do, and wanted to stay with the role of PF, to which I told him, no, I took the controls again.
What should be done in this case? Should I have stayed as PM or taken the controls again.

You transferred control the second you said "you have control", you don't have it from that point onwards, far better at that point to let your partner deal with the control aspects of the failure and for you to run the ECAM and secure the engine. You don't know what rudder input they may have made or what control inputs they were making. Just sit on your hands for a sec rather than reflexively take control back.

Are you a brand new pilot?

The truth is that no, but it is the first time that I have to work with another person in the cabin.

So yes, you are a brand new pilot...

But why is a strange question?

Because anyone with even an inkling of experience flying transport category aircraft wouldn't have to ask an anonymous forum about transferring controls.

They are teaching me the same as the manuals, the topic of PF and PM, but in a critical situation like a fire in an engine, the Captain decides to reverse these. But it’s true, I talked to my instructor and he told me what I wrote above. Finally, the use of forums is for conversation, and I wanted to know if there was any other opinion about a critical situation like this, clearly always taken from an intelligence perspective. But don’t worry, you are free to respond...

It's your best judgment. The decision won't be made for you.

Thanks, we both know what to do, it was just a moment during the instruction that there was this confusion about the simultaneous handover of controls with the failure.
I am being trained to be a first officer on the A320, so I am a PF on the right side.

Then it's for you to decide between you a la CRM. "You want to take and I'll do the checkist?"
