At this point whoever US supports is no doubt in the wrong. The US Israel and Ukraine are the real axis of evil
Pinales_Pinopsida@reddit
Russia invaded Ukraine. What are you on about?
ttystikk@reddit
We are stuck in these things called facts. Once you actually know enough of them, you'll understand. UNTIL you know more than what CNN is willing to tell you, you will not understand.
ReleaseTheCracken69@reddit
I mean if you want facts I can give you some facts. Russia stole Crimea and other eastern areas of Ukraine in 2014. Bunch of ongoing conflict for the next 7 years bc, ya know, Russia literally stole their land. Russia begins amassing troops near Ukraine's border in 2021 for "training exercises" (which anyone who's ever played a Civ game before can tell you that's straight BS). Putin kicks off the "special military operations" and invades Ukraine in 2022. And on a personal note, I don't consume CNN content, nor any other MSM since they're all trash.
Maleficent-Drop1476@reddit
Only fact in this sub is whatever the US does they need to support the opposite.
ttystikk@reddit
I'm still waiting.
Sweet summer child... You know those regions were and remain full of people with Russian roots, right? THEY didn't move when the borders were redrawn in 1991, after all. Putin took Crimea after the American backed Maiden Coup. Don't believe me? Then why was senior US State Department official Victoria Nuland caught on tape deciding who the next president of Ukraine was going to be?
No, the US and NATO sent hundreds of millions of dollars in arms to Ukrainian Nazis, Banderists they're called after the WWII figure who worked with the Nazis against the Soviet Union and kept at it with CIA backing ever since. The "Azov Battalion" used those Western supplies weapons against the ethnic Russian population in a deliberate effort to start the war you think began in 2022. The Russians did everything they could to make peace, including sign the Minsk I and II Agreements, which were used by NATO to rearm the Banderists. European leaders actually bragged about it... Because the West doesn't keep its word.
I'm a lot better at Sid Meier's Civilization than you've ever dreamed of being. Hell , my buddies and I helped build the Avalon Hill Advanced Civilization expansion (the board game that came before the computer game and kick-started the entire genre), probably 20 years before you were born!
Yet you still didn't know why?
Did you know that Putin and Zelensky had a peace agreement ready to sign- on very favorable terms to Ukraine- in March of 2022? Did you know that's why Boris Johnson flew to Kyiv to talk Zelensky out of it and promise not just hundreds of billions of dollars of weapons and support but riches for Zelensky himself? Now half a million Ukrainians are dead and millions more have fled the country.
Well, you're still parroting their lies so I'm not really sure what to tell you. Maybe start listening to better sources; professor Jeffrey Sachs, Michael Hudson, Scott Ritter, Pablo Escobar, Chris hedges, Max Blumenthal, and of course Snowden, Assange, Chelsea Manning, John Kiriakou, William Binney, and once you've gotten that far, you'll have a much better understanding not only of the situation in Ukraine but also in Gaza and throughout the Middle East and wherever America is projecting power.
I applaud your interest in these matters. Study hard; the world is not as you think it is; it's far more complex. Follow the money; it always leads to the truth.
ReleaseTheCracken69@reddit
Don't bother, idk when but this sub seemingly got gaslit into somehow thinking Putin's blatant land grab and invasion of Ukraine is Ukraine's fault or something lol
Charlirnie@reddit
Bet you support all the bombing of other countries US has done and support of Israel slaughtering
ReleaseTheCracken69@reddit
Well you'd be wrong then lmao. Israeli government is clearly committing atrocities too. And the US has a whole laundry list of BS they've done as well. Regardless, my general stance is you're a shithead if you start shit. Israel started their shit. Russia started their shit. And the US has started plenty of shit too. Ukraine/Palestine didn't ask to get bombed and invaded though, that was Russia/Israel's decisions.
Charlirnie@reddit
Yeah I like that stance but the US orchestrated this conflict not that it means Russia is good....its like letting the known paedophile down the street hang out closer to your house edge of your yard flirting with the kids more everyday. You would be the aggressor if you engaged or wait till they engaged which would be to late.
Pinales_Pinopsida@reddit
Yeah, this sub comes of as pro Russian/Putin.

Israel invades Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. Russia invades Ukraine. There, I fixed it for you.
spilledcoffee00@reddit (OP)
It really should read Russia defends itself against NATO and Israel, invades Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria
AUStraliana2006@reddit
No, NATO/Europe was weak in 2014 when Putin invaded Crimea. During the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Putin got permission from his overlord Xi Jinping to invade the Donbass, but NATO/Europe are slowly growing a pair of balls and Russia will be destroyed. Ukraine will be free and join NATO and EU, Russia will fall apart in many small republics and be an economic and political mess for many decades to come. Putin's body was never found.
Israel is a terrorist state protected and armed by the USA and invades Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
spilledcoffee00@reddit (OP)
Scratch a NAFO and get a NAZI.
Nethlem@reddit
Another one for the list: The Guardian reporting about NATO Turkey invading its neighbour Syria without ever using the word "invasion" once but talking a whole lot about "the (special anti terror) operation":
Also gotta love this part, going "Marks the first time Turkey did something like that!" only to then go "Except for that other time Turkey did something like that":
At this point, I think dystopian fiction like 1984 is unrealistic on account of not being absurd enough.

Copying the US's homework from the Iraq War with that name. Reminds me of these gems:

Israel can do no wrong because the zionists own the Western media.
nuclearfall@reddit
Zionism is unnecessary to explain the phenomenon. Using it as the only answer to every question of the woes of the world diminishes its very real influence in global politics.
The press, regardless of “freedom of the press,” which by the law technically exists, is a self censoring body whose narrative is an echo chamber fed by government officials, think tanks, imperialists, and legacy Cold Warriors. Editors know they have to make money, and they know their audience. Any nuanced reporting which circumvents hardline narratives can’t exist under these constraints.
What we end up with a de facto state funded international press and a market driven domestic press. It’s why we see the political polarization from domestic news sources. Western press controls upwards of 90% of all international news in most countries: AP, BBC, Reuters, AFP, and Bloomberg are among the largest. You have to go six deep to find any Eastern press source and those primarily in untranslated languages

PLUTO_HAS_COME_BACK@reddit
In one piece for sure.
nuclearfall@reddit
Ukraine was a failed state as soon as it was taken over. The economy crashed and corruption never got better.
Elections were held while a large part of the population was intentionally disenfranchised by laws making it nearly impossible for those in “occupied areas” from going into state controlled territories and voting and removing seats from the Rada that would represent those same people. There is precedent since the first elections for Ukraine voting during war time so the justification for not holding elections just doesn’t hold up; it makes the government, or at very least the President, illegitimate
People in Russian held territory were denied renewal Ukrainian passports that allowed travel abroad, so their “passportization” angle is just outright bullshit. “Liberation” during the counteroffensive of 22 saw the arrest and/or ruining of many who simply wanted to normalize life for their people. The state has set the precedent of revoking citizenship for natural born Ukrainians holding passports from other countries, abusing the Constitution while spurning international law itself.
Ukraine wants the territory now, not the people on it. Those who stayed are often considered traitors not citizens living in occupied territory
Just-Sale-7015@reddit
Not only that, but it has a section "Is Israel invading Syria?" Can you guess what the answer is?

Tbf I bitch about both so there you have it
mexicodoug@reddit
Let's just always be honest about calling invasions invasions.
patmcirish@reddit
We should also look at what the local population wants. With Syria, the people don't want to be invaded by Turkey, Jordan, Israel, USA, etc., while in eastern Ukraine and Crimea, the people overwhelmingly want help from Russia.
This is something we should start being honest about.
ReleaseTheCracken69@reddit
I mean I'd love help from Canada but that wouldn't justify them invading and stealing American land lol

Bullshit equivalency (definition): a typical fallacy of composition by trying to negate uncomfortable truth by sidestepping the reality based on adherence to NATO or SBU talking points
Asatmaya@reddit
Ah, that's because you don't know the proper conjugation of the verb:
I/we liberate.
You occupy.
He/she/they invade.
Mad_King@reddit
It is nice that you used pronouns because I couldn’t get it otherwise. Also, my pronouns is he/big-dick.
Jokes aside, it is all perception. People are okay/dont-care with the situations that it is not affected to them. But this is an awful behaviour, everyone should work against bullied and unlawful situations otherwise when it is effecting you, noone is going to help you.
moustachiooo@reddit
But we all know the media will celebrate one and protest the other - with Luigi and the last 13 months of g-cide and total blatant US support, at least the facade is totally exposed, US being for intl law based order, humanitarian BS values, we can now wipe our collective asses with those self serving rationales for endless crimes against the global south.
