My irritating neighbor parks their POS car in front of my house. It's laneway parking with a sidewalk infront. The problem is they start and idle it which is so loud it literally sounds like a bomb is going off, waking me up at loud times in the night and idling it for >10mins duing the day.

How do I put a stop to this once and for all?

Things I've tried:

1. Politely leaving a note on their windshield kindly asking they park their loud car in front of their own house or better yet, their garage.

2. Caling the municipal bylaw office twice for both idling (sometimes they would do it >1 hour and it would shake my house) and also noise complaints (the fact that it sounds like a bomb going off). I live in Canada so they would get a warning before a fine.

3. Getting a neighbor to help them diagnose the issue with their loud POS car. (When one dies they just get another equally loud one)

4. Building a snow wall against their car (Canadian). This worked (their car even got stuck for an hour after they attempted to move it after a week, but now the snow melted.

Ideas to try next:

1. Sprinkle rusty nails on the road infront of my house (we have a garage for our cars in the back alley)

2. Hire someone to slash their tires (they have front cameras so I can't do this myself)
