I see a lot of locations mentioned but few reason as to why these places are bad?
Educational_Cow111@reddit
Run down and dirty

To add to worst places to live…….Eaglestone, Tinkers Bridge, Conniburrow, Bradwell Common, Coffee Hall, Fullers Slade, Stantonbury.
cflyssy@reddit
Is Bradwell Common that bad?
Contact_Patch@reddit
Bits of it are rough, bits of it are fine, same as Oldbrook
Sonums@reddit
Eaglestone isn’t a nasty place to live, just depends on which side of it you live on
Efficient-Ad-5494@reddit
I moved out of MK a few months back but when I was living there I found Broughton really safe and well designed. Especially if you are living with family it is the best place to live according to me.
lukegibbons86@reddit
Did you live in other places to allow a fair comparison to be made?
Crazy_Assignment116@reddit
Worst places? There are quite a few.... Fishermead has to be at the top. But then you have Netherfield, Lakes, Tinkers.... There are quite a few shitholes. As for the nicer parts... Any new estate at edge of the city as they have less council estate trash living there.
SerendipitousCrow@reddit
Lakes isn't that bad these days. Yeah it's shabby but it's not all gangs of teenagers on every corner. Would rather be on the lakes than Fullers Slade for example
Crazy_Assignment116@reddit
I was stuck in the Lakes for 15 years. Unfortunately, at the time it was the only place I could buy a large house. Then recession and redundancies happened and the dream of moving out of that shithole kept being delayed. Hated every single day I lived there. It's not that bad? It was never any good to start with!! Sure the meat wagons stopped turning up when the pub shut down but it doesn't mean it became alright. It was never "alright".
Council trash everywhere, multiple families where nobody worked, arguing outside, often in the night, week in, week out. They didn't give a flying fuck about those that had to get up at 4am to go earn a crust. At any one day I'd come home from work and find the square littered with someone's shit that got kicked out. Within a week, another family would move in. The stench of weed coming from their house was ridiculous. They'd get kicked out, another family would move in, sheds would get broken into.... And so on and so forth, rinse and repeat for 15.fucking.years. It was a shithole.
Sure, there were some very lively people living there but the ones that weren't, made living there a fucking nightmare. Me and many others fell victims to the council estate trash, personally, I had 2 cars broken into, one stolen and torched, had windows smashed and my shed broken into where I lost tools and bicycles and even after I emptied the fucking thing, it got broken into so many times, I decided to just demolish it and leave an open corner in that sorry shit of a "garden" with a door that had so many holes from new locks being fitted, it looked like a Swiss cheese.
Interesting how there are people that get all riled up when I call these cunts "COUNCIL ESTATE TRASH" because that what they are. Fucking parasites.

“Council Trash” Nice 🙄

Moreso the landlord in my opinion. I currently live in Simpson- it's a decent area.
My landlord decided to increase my rent mid contract. Which goes against having a contract in the first place - he's likely going to use the 6 month break clause as leverage to get rid of me.
I'm not quite sure what to do, I'm an placement student and the hassle of moving whilst working long hours is extremely stressful - but I'll cross that bridge soon.
paulyhopey@reddit
Police station Once spent a night in the cells for kicking in betting shop windows. From Halifax never going back.
Hot-Difficulty3556@reddit
Just move to the centre. Is well located, decent amenities etc
Budden89@reddit
What's the Lakes estate like now days?
vivalaalice@reddit
Haven’t been there myself in a few years but as far as I’m aware they’re putting a lot of money into it to make it a lot better
spamih8@reddit
I lived in an apartment in central Milton Keynes for about 2 years and loved it, so easy to get everywhere and so much available, I would move back…
vivalaalice@reddit
Totally! Other than the ridiculously high rent everything about living in central MK is great (do wish there was a cheaper supermarket within walking distance though as getting an Uber back from Lidl uses a chunk of the money I save by shopping there)
PresentationEvery906@reddit
From personal experience Wolverton is alright, two mile ash seems nice at first but is quite shit due to only having 2 shops
FinchMandala@reddit
No malice intended but this question gets asked like every week and I don't think area reputations change that rapidly.
cflyssy@reddit
I live in the centre of town and find it fantastically convenient for the shopping centre and the station, although vibes-wise I suppose it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Bits of CMK are run down, there are a couple of rough-ish streets but as a 20-something guy, I've never felt unsafe walking around, even after dark. The newer/posher developments around the park look very nice, if I had the money I'd quite like to live over there.
ggharami@reddit
Moved here 2 years ago. Some parts of MK honestly look straight out of a ghetto movie but some parts are nice..
ObjectiveStructure50@reddit
I’ll always say deanshanger was an excellent place to live. I miss it deeply
wearetrashbirds@reddit
Grew up there would never return because I found like the kids and shit brutal when it came to bullying and the schools never cared sadly. Beautiful views tho
ObjectiveStructure50@reddit
Luckily I escaped to the local grammar (RLS), no chance I’d have been happy if I went to kingsbrook
wearetrashbirds@reddit
Yeah no kingsbrook was so bad I know people who homeschooling their kids because they found kingsbrook so traumatic. But I'm pretty sure they still have a banner saying ofsted called them a good school lol I do miss walking the dog to wicken and back through the fields was so peaceful and seeing the Highland cows grazing on church grounds. But dwanshanger finally got their bus service back which is nice
ObjectiveStructure50@reddit
Hahaha I’m pretty sure that banner is gone now. I did love the back way to wicken, having a gate from my house into the church field meant we regularly walked that way. Absolutely beautiful views
wearetrashbirds@reddit
Damn but that banner was hilarious shame. Yeah was a nice escape. My fave was the frosty mornings of the cow fields by the old park was such a delight to see could easily avoid anyone and everyone lol
rockandrollmark@reddit
It really depends what you’re looking for. Lots of people get very excited at the thought of a new build but a 3 bed copy-and-paste townhouse with a postage stamp sized garden on an estate where the developer’s broken the laws of physics when it comes to how many homes can be crammed into a 1/4 mile square which overlooks a distribution centre isn’t my cup of tea.
Stony, Newport Pagnell, Woburn Sands and Wolverton all offer a high street with a chemist, pubs, a library, junior schools, local shops, a little Tesco (or similar) and tend to have lots of things happening put on by the local community. You don’t have to get in your car to do the simplest thing and you end up bumping into people you know and becoming part of the community. I’d say quality of life is better in these places than in the estates.

Woolstone and Woughton on the Green
Wgh555@reddit
Have just moved to Fenny Stratford and it’s decent
Crazy_Assignment116@reddit
Fenny is very nice. The houses are old as hell and many have huge gardens. However, if you don't have a driveway, parking is a nightmare.
Surround-Excellent@reddit
I lived in walnut tree and browns wood for 3 years, fine then to be pleasant

Milton keynes
dottymouse@reddit
Best for me is the surrounding villages/towns - Woburn Sands, Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford... Close enough but have their own character and aren't cookie cutter houses.
UsefulAd8513@reddit
Exactly, those places which have retained some of their character but have been subsumed. The Shenleys (Church End, Brook End, Lodge), Simpson, MK Village and Broughton, Willen, Houghton.
