Here's my PSA for this: The majority of 417/mr762 parts are proprietary, and quite expensive. By the time you're done (if you get done) with the build, it would've been cheaper to just get a mr762 from the start. Then at least you won't have to deal with the goofy threading on this barrel.
If you still want to go down the build road; get their bolt, barrel nut wrench, and piston rod too
Yeah, I didn't buy anything. I was looking into it. I don't see clones of the HK417/MR762. So it seems like you could make a "cheap" HK417 for like $3k working off of this by buying stripped upper/lowers if you can. It seems like a trap to me lol
Loll, ironically I just built the cheapest aero m5 using Mr Schuyler banger Aero m5 complete upper. Total build came out to be $750, you cant get any lower than that for a quality ar10. Here I am today buying a $50 mr7.62 barrel deal from the same man and looking to spend upward of 3k for a g28 clone
I just bought my first AR. The Andro Corp $370 one that has an aero BCG and advanced ballistics barrel. I'm gonna use it for 3 gun. Just need to buy a belt and a cz p-10f 9mm when I can
Heck yeah seems like you're spending your hard earn money in the right place. You could always buy this and slowy save up for the final build and in the end you will have a gucci 7.62 to flex with your buddy lol

Heads up, there are troubling reports of packages being lost by Brownells' shipping partners and their CS saying there is nothing that can be done unless you paid for insurance.
This is completely false and it is up to the seller to get you your package intact and not destroyed.
We are advising everyone to please use a credit card with chargeback capabilities with Brownells for the foreseeable future. Debit cards do not offer very much, if any protection at all and it is up to your issuing bank to help you with a refund. Credit cards on the other hand are very much more receptive to issues due to it being the companies money being lent out until you pay the CC bill.
Tl;Dr: please use a credit card with Brownells and not a debit card
