Has there been any verifiable information on the 5.8mm? Last thing that popped up in my radar was the keyholing incident during the new rifle demonstration.

Old rubber training round designed for type 95 used on new rifle in closed range traning. It was hilarious it has become so wide spread and truned into a new "fact" now, wherase people who tried to fight against these rumors gained zero attentions on English internet.

who is buying these?

Canadians

like in quebec?

My guess is the Houthis, considering that Iran, Russia, and China are all getting closer.
Russia has given the Houthis intelligence and the earned to provide missiles and has committed to several substantial arms sales with Iran
China is buying 90% of Iran’s exported oil, which is how the entire Iranian economy stays afloat.
And, of course, Iran has been singlehandedly propping up the Houthis for years now.
Keep in mind that I’m just connecting the dots and speculating - I don’t have evidence that these were intended for the Houthis

As a Canadian we get the rare moment to comment on these rifles. The T-97 entered Canada as a 5.56 export model using STAMAGS. They were the cheapest bullpup in our market but a huge margin. For comparison the Tavor was 2799 CAD at the time, the RDB still is 1499CAD, and this guy came in at 749 CAD brand new. The cheap price showed, very cheap feeling plastic, one of the worst triggers ever made (there is no wall or break, it’s just mush all the way and you’re surprised every time because again, there’s literally no wall) the iron sights are actual garbage.
But they were very reliable and didn’t break. They’re also very light and well balanced. I still own mine and take it the range every once in a while. They are fun to shoot lol.

Wait the trigger is even worse than the Tavor?
DerringerOfficial@reddit
The Tavor is by no means the worst example of a bullpup trigger (especially because you can get aftermarket Geisseles). That would probably be the FN F2000 or the B&T MP9.

Honestly its not bad but for the money I mean its bad.
rastamasta45@reddit
It makes the Tavor a god damn match trigger by comparison.
CatEnjoyer1234@reddit
I really want to try one now.
NorthWestSellers@reddit
The trigger is so bad and squishy it makes bump fire reeeally easy.
Sonoda_Kotori@reddit
The trigger felt like a SKS in a polymer stock.

Good reminder that China is a made up of impoverished, unindustrialized 3rd world villages outside of unbelievably massive and technologically advanced cities with unparalleled manufacturing hubs

Is that a Vietnam era 20rnd magazine?
RARE_ARMS_REVIVED@reddit
*97A, designating it 5.56x45, rather than 5.8x42
Sonoda_Kotori@reddit
97 is 5.56x45 as well.
GunsAndWrenches2@reddit
Was wondering why the ammo and mag looked like 5.56 lol
