Is there anywhere to sort Premier Inn rooms by 'has aircon'?

You can try but why bother. I have yet to find any aircon in a uk hotel worth the name. I reckon most hotels ask "can you put the ac unit on the wall but no chillers, just a fan" Last place I stayed : all night the ac was on 16C. Still woke up sweaty (naked and no covers on). My thermometer now tells me it's 16c at home and I am under a duvet thinking it's slightly too warm.

Malmaison Birmingham, stayed their during last year's heatwave. Hands down the best air con in a hotel room I've stayed in, got the room so cold when I went back outside it was a bit of a shock!

I sleep under a throw in summer, under at night time, usually half under at bed time. I don’t try a full duvet, great way to wiggle and get to hot. Im in higher apartment, so also have breeze from balcony doors blow on me. Works quite well.

If the company are paying and you do the booking, use Hotels.com and save the stamps and you eventually get yourself a free night away. You can also filter ac on there I believe.

If it works at all, the heating/aircon at PI is normally set to run for 20 mins only. Obviously you can reset when it stops - but not while you're sleeping.

If they have premier inn plus rooms, they always have air con and it works - they are a bit more pricey but worth it for me

I wouldn't rely on it. Last time I stayed in a Premier Inn you could change the aircon from inside your room but it would change it through the whole building, so it was just going up and down all night with us and the other guests fighting over the temperature. It was completely useless.

Recently booked a room in a premier Inn, then loads of bad reviews were appearing saying the Aircon wasn't working, called them up (as I know sometimes people go ott with negative reviews) and they said they were having issues for the last 7 weeks and couldn't gaurantee out room would have working Aircon, and with the hot weather and not being able to open windows I just cancelled the trip, will try again later in the year at a different hotel.

Nearly did this ourselves recently (not with Premier Inn though). We had a wedding to attend last weekend with our 2 month old and I rang the hotel in advance to confirm they had aircon. They said we did but I was really dubious given our room type was listed online as not having aircon and I was prepared to go nuclear and drive home if it didn't have it. Turns out it did and it was icy cool.

Don’t think I’ve ever been in a premier inn that the aircon works in, and I stayed in a lot. They’re still probably the best value hotel chain, work won’t book me a travelodge anymore, I flat out refuse. The beds are comfy, room is fairly nice, the ones attached to a pub are usually decent, you can have a pint with your meal in a nice setting. The ones with their own restaurant are tire, I Uber eats/deliveroo to the hotel if I’m too tired to go out for food.

ive worked for premier inn for 2 years, and i currently work in edinburgh city centre. the air con is very hit and miss, and there’s no way to filter. modern hotels are built so the windows cannot be open, so new PI’s will have air con- however this only goes down to 19c, and the thermostat can be tricky to work as well. PI’s without air con usually have a supply of fans but these are always limited and are first come first served. if you know you’re going to be staying at a hotel without air con, there’s no harm in calling or emailing to ask if a fan can be placed in your room prior to arrival

Most rooms air con don't work and i'm talking from a standpoint of working away for 8yrs myself. Buy a cheap fan and whack it in the car / van and just have a cold shower before bed.

About nine times out of ten I'm lucky enough to get aircon, it either doesn't work and just sort of blows out room temperature air - or it rattles like a mad tin can. Have fun sleeping with that on.

The last time I stayed at a premier in that had Aircon it's was Bristol Finzels reach. You could turn the Aircon on at the wall and it did nothing. If you asked at the desk about it they'd go in the back and the room would be chilly enough to need a jumper when you got back up.

I stayed at the one in Bristol (opposite the Loch Fyne) where the aircon was stuck on heat. In July. They refunded 50% of the cost of the stay, but I was there for a week for work, so I didn't see any of that money.

Premier inn hotels are a bit crap but what I have found is that if you book last minute the chances of getting a disabled room is higher even if you don't ask for one. If they are busy the last rooms to go are disabled and they have bigger bathrooms etc and I've had more luck with ac in these rooms.

I recently stayed in Bristol South Premier Inn. Have the hotel has air con, have the hotel doesn’t. So even if you could sort by “has air con”, it’s not guaranteed.

I absolutely cannot stand Premier Inn rooms that have aircon. Because it means the windows are sealed shut. I just need to get some air in the room, but no! The aircon unit itself NEVER works properly, they are always far too noisy to sleep, they don't cool the air sufficiently to mean that it is at least cool. So I can't sleep because of the noise ans it is too hot ! They need to get rid of the aircon and have opening windows.

I've found it varies. I stay in a lot of Premier Inns for work & I've found the newer hotels unsurprisingly have the better air con. I was in Edinburgh York Place last year during the heatwave we had & their air con was icy cold - it was glorious. Notable mentions for Farringdon & Slough too.

I'm not sure where the people in this thread have been staying, but air con always works pretty well in the places I tend to go. Heathrow's T4 Premier Inn had absolutely wonderful air con when I stayed there for a night last July. OP - I don't know if there's a function to filter by air con but you usually find it in the room facilities list when you view a room type.

I’ve stayed anywhere from Easy Hotel to the Savoy. I’m not convinced air con actually works in most hotels. I suspect if it’s advertised it’s in lieu of ‘building temperature control’.
