Life span of flour

Can anyone tell me the approx life span of rye or whole wheat flour in vacuum sealed bags then stored in sealed totes? Anyone have a lifespan list of food there'd like to share?

good news! if it is a typical bleached white flour, and assuming you did a good job vaccum sealing, using oxygen/moisture absorber packets, and store in a dark temperate place like a basement store room, your flour should last 20-25 years. this is one of the longer lasting prep items in perfect conditions. however if it is a whole weat flour or anything else then it may only last a couple of years due to the organic compounds that are alive within it.

This is completely wrong. Flour will not last 20+ years even vacuum sealed. There’s a reason people store wheat berries and NOT flour it’s so they actually can last 20-25 years.

I’m making some zucchini bread and then realized the vacuum sealed bread flour I got out of my in laws freezer was from 2015… I ate some of the batter but the bread is in the oven still. I guess I’ll find out if ten years is good.
